Time to toast Martini Lane
Race 2 18:45 Delaware Park - Martini Lane
I am going to take a chance with Martini Lane in this bottom level claimer on the main track.
This gelding finished fifth against similar over this course earlier this month. He took a hefty bump at the start and lost momentum. He recovered to make a four-wide move in the straight, and was not beaten all that far. The extra yardage will suit and am looking for a much-improved effort. He should have a decent pace to run at, as the likely favourite Fine N Dandy will probably attempt to make all. I recommend backing him at BSP as he should be a big price.
Belle Tapisserie a solid choice
Race 7 21:15 Delaware Park - Belle Tapisserie
Belle Tapisserie should go close in this interesting $25k optional claimer on the main track.
Earlier this month at Gulfstream Park he finished fifth in a $65k optional claimer. He got caught in a furious speed duel and paid the price inside the final furlong. New trainer Andrew Simoff drops him aggressively for his local debut and should be rewarded with a big effort. He should be able to clear the field, and hopefully not face a great deal of pace pressure. His form is rock solid and recommend backing him at his Morning Line price of 4.03/1.
