Moore to collect an easy win with fav
12:20 Lingfield - Back Glentaneous
I managed to get Three Platoon beat the other day at short odds to deny us a treble, but Glentaneous should have little trouble winning the second race of the day at Lingers.
He showed lots of promise behind a Godolphin shortie on debut at Kempton, and he was 16/1 that day, so not a lot was expected.
As a relation to Youmzain, he will need further in time, but the inexperience caught him out at Kempton and he ran on well at the end. Ryan Moore is up today and should see us into the second leg alive.
Wetlands to get the ball rolling at Newcastle in the opener
13:35 Newcastle - Back Wetlands
It's a bit of short-priced day today with the next selection Wetlands - who landed a bumper at the track in testing conditions, so that is a box ticked for his chances.
His trainer Nicky Richards has spurned the handicap route - for which he'd have a mark of 125, instead sticking to novice company, but he looks a fine prospect.
He bolted up by 28 lengths last time at Ayr in heavy conditions and he's a neat jumper too. There are only five in the field and two have no chance, with the best on figures Lord Of Kerak who is just shading the market as favourite.
There is a lot of stamina too in his pedigree and he won't lack for seeing out the distance.
