Al Dudman is off for a summer break, so long-time Betfair tipster Nick Shiambouros steps in to the chair and hopes to start with a winning double from Carlisle and Salisbury...
"He has a long way to go to live up to his pedigree, but this is a start"
Tudor the big improver
14:20 Carlisle - Tudor
Tudor should go close in this interesting Novice Stakes.
This Sir Robert Ogden homebred caught the eye on debut when finishing third to Highland Premiere at Hamilton earlier this month. He missed the break and looked out of it in the early going, but ran on strongly in the closing stages and was not beaten all that far.
The stiff six furlongs will suit and will benefit from a strong pace. He will need further in time, but looks like the big improver in this field. He has attracted support on the Sportsbook and is trading at 100/30 from 4/1.
Khaiz to graduate
15:20 Salisbury - Khaiz
Khaiz should open his account in this maiden.
After a couple of starts this well related son of Dubawi is starting to get the hang of things. At Sandown earlier this month he finished second to Betty Crean L A. James Doyle was in the drive position some way from home, but responded to his urgings and came home well.
His Dam Nightime was a Group 1 winner on heavy ground so the softer conditions should suit. He has a long way to go to live up to his pedigree, but this is a start. The 11/8 on the Sportsbook is fair.
The double has been boosted from 11/2 to 13/2 - back it here.
