I have been waiting for the main track debut of Malathaat for a while.

This beautifully bred filly by Curlin is out of the brilliant mare Dreaming of Julia, who won the Grade 1 Frizette and went on to finish second to Beholder in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. She went through the ring for just over $1m and certainly looked the part. I was a little surprised Stonestreet Stables sold her, as they usually keep quality fillies for breeding. Her work tab is strong and put in a bullet work six days ago which is encouraging. Todd Pletcher trained the Dam and knows the family well. She will be ready and recommend backing her at around 2.56/4.

Orglandes to upset

Race 9 22:20 Belmont Park - Orglandes

I am going to take a chance with Orglandes in this $62.5k optional claimer on the turf course.

This French import caught the eye on US debut when finishing second in an allowance race at Monmouth Park last month. She made up a lot of ground in the closing stages and finished the race with good energy. Considering this was her first outing in over a year this was a decent effort. Trainer Chad Brown is a master conditioner with older fillies and mares, and significant improvement is expected. I think she is sitting on a big effort and recommend backing her at BSP.
