Alan Dudman is hoping Royal Aclaim and Bolthole strike today at York for his 23/1 Sportsbook Multiple...

Aclaim to make her claim to be Queen of Yorkshire

We start Friday's multiple in the Group 1 Nunthorpe, and if ever there was a horse with stardust potential then it's James Tate's Royal Aclaim - who looked so good last time at the track, she's impossible to oppose.

The 3yo filly was given this target immediately by Tate following a City Walls win at the John Smith's meeting at York last time, running two seriously quick middle furlongs on the clock at 10.42 and 10.48. Her third furlong chimed in at 10.98, and has now rocketed to a Timeform adjusted rating of 120p.

The rise in class from a cakewalk previously at Bath was no problem, with the trainer describing her as the fastest he has trained.

She looked a complete natural, and course form on the Knavesmire always helps too. With the looks to match, the sprinting division is there for taking this season and her trainer arrives in fine nick too with three winners from his last 10 runners at 30%.

Bolt to travel well again under Spencer to be played late

There's support for Michael Bell's Bolthole from 10/1 into 7/1 on the Sportsbook and he's certainly one I'd rather be with at the prices (just about now) compared to favourite Operating and the Charlie Appleby-trained Bay Of Honour.

The latter won at the Rowley Mile, and that was only a small field, and while he hammered the three rivals, racing at Newmarket has been difficult to work out.

Bolthole is a strong traveller and I can see him coming late and picking them off one by one here.

He didn't quite get home at Goodwood last time behind Ajero, but once again went through the race well - going to half his BSP in-running. Previously he ran at Royal Ascot in the Britannia but he was undone by the draw.

The 3yo showed that ability to tank through races earlier in the season at Sandown and also winning on debut at Windsor as a 2yo.

The tongue tie is an interesting move first time today, as he has been a little keen in his races during the early part, but he still looks well treated from 93 as he drops back down to 1m.
