Doctor Khan Junior has been ultra-progressive this winter

  • Oldroyd's 7f star to make giant strides again

  • Form of Quiet Resolve makes mark look attractive

Paul Nicholls Superboost

Betfair Ambassador Paul Nicholls saddles Sans Bruit in today's Betfair Imperial Cup, and if you fancy the horse to finish in the top six you can back him at the super-boosted price of 6/42.50 (from 4/51.80.

Wolverhampton - 14:40: Back Doctor Khan Junior

One horse I am really looking forward to seeing on Saturday is the ultra-progressive Doctor Khan Junior, and I am looking to take on the favourite in the 14:40 with this 5yo at 10/34.33 compared to Shouldvebeenaring at 6/52.20.

I feel he should be a little closer in the betting to the Richard Hannon runner.

He won again last time, and couldn't have been more impressive at Wolverhampton in a 0-105 Handicap and scored by 3L with a dead straightforward performance from the front.

The selection is now up to 99, and considering that was a personal best by a big margin last time, I doubt his improvement has stalled even though he has improved since his first win some 26lb.

I really liked his win the start before at Southwell in January as he was headed after making the running but fought back against Intervention to get home.

A perfect draw in one this afternoon is ideal for the way he races and he looks well up to taking his chance in Listed company, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him running in the 7f Group races in the summer.

Wolverhampton - 17:35: Back Quiet Resolve

I'll win no prizes for picking out an 10/111.91 favourite in the 17:35, but I am struggling to oppose Quiet Resolve for Richard Fahey and the 3yo could be in off a good mark for his handicap debut here from 78.

He scored upped to 7f last time at Newcastle and beat a short-priced Roger Varian favourite with an expensive pedigree into second. I can't knock the form either as there was a 4L gap back to the third.

The 3yo coped well with the hottest part of the race in terms of speed in his final two furlongs and the form of his third behind Pocklington at Newcastle in January looks even better now with that horse beating Army Ethos recently.

The money kept coming for him this morning which isn't a surprise, and the 11/82.38 into 11/102.11 soon became 10/111.91.

Back Quiet Resolve @ 10/111.91
