Horse Racing Tips: Haku down in class features in Saturday Wolves double

• Alan almost landed a big price double yesterday

• First selection on Saturday excels at Wolves

• Haku has a perfect draw for the 20:00

Wolverhampton - 17:30: Back English Spirit

We missed the 44/145.00 double yesterday by a whisker, with Exquisite Acclaim doing exactly what I thought he would in winning and Wishes And Dreams running a super race in defeat in second - and that horse returned a BSP of 27! Another massive drifter, considering Wishes And Dreams was put up at 5/16.00.

We'll stick with the All-Weather on Saturday evening and maybe it's a case of playing with fire in the Amateur Jockeys' opener at 17:30, but English Spirit is a horse who goes so well at Wolves, it's impossible to get away from his chances.

His last three runs over CD have seen him win twice and finish second in his other outing, and last time got a good ride on the pace as the race turned into a bit of sprint.

That was a similar scenario to his victory at the track in November, and that was a slightly better race than today's.

He has a perfect draw in one as he seeks another victory at Wolverhampton.

Wolverhampton - 20:00: Back Haku

Haku is a 5/16.00 selection for the 20:00 1m4f Handicap, and I am shunning my old friend Heathen - who was very impressive at Southwell in December winning off 74.

Haku is a very consistent All-Weather performer with four wins and numerous places from his 17 starts, and this is much easier than Kempton last time where he competed in a 0-105 red hot winter handicap.

That also turned into a dash looking at the sectionals.

He ran a super race when second at Southwell to Nolton Cross in a 0-88 in early January, but he did beat that horse over CD on his previous start and showed a good attitude in the finish.

The selection doesn't have masses in hand from his mark, but this is a drop in class from Kempton last time and he has an ideal draw in two with his run style.
