Tarjeeh could be a classy performer in tonight's 19:30 at Wolverhampton

Doctor Khan Junior was another single winner for Alan yesterday at a BSP of [8.55], and he goes to Wolverhampton on Saturday in search of more profit...

  • Alan in form with another winner at 15/28.50 yesterday

  • Wolves selection a five-time course winner

  • Tarjeeh looks to have strong chance with penalty

Wolverhampton - 18:30: Back Glorious Charmer

Doctor Khan Junior ran out a nice single winner for the column yesterday and his success has taken the singles part of the P and L to 33 points profit in the last nine days. Meetings may be thin on the ground on Saturday but Wolverhampton offers the chance for the first leg to chisel out some profit with Glorious Charmer.

First impressions were that he was well overpriced at 11/112.00 for the 18:30, especially considering his record over CD and form at Wolverhampton.

He's a five-time course winner and two over CD, but he performed badly last time at Southwell in August, but that was his first run after a break to offer a valid excuse.

Overall he's very consistent, and in eight runs in 2023, he has won three times and placed in three others, so he's well worth an each-way back.

The selection is a prominent racer and can make the running too, while his jockey Aidan Keeley gets on particularly well with him.

Wolverhampton - 19:30: Back Tarjeeh

Trainer Owen Burrows isn't a regular with runners at Wolverhampton, but his Tarjeeh looks to have a strong chance to add to his profile with victory in the 19:30.

He ran a nice race on his debut las summer at Windsor, a race in which the 91-rated Chartwell House was in, and Tarjeeh stayed on well after a ragged start.

The 3yo made no mistake when winning over 7f at Newbury on his second start, showing a bit more know-how from an uncompromising position to score ahead of Dancing Magic and Bresson. The former started this season rated 106, and Bresson is a handy performer too. It looked a good race at the time, and looks even better now.

The only negative is Tarjeeh's absence, as he's been off for 463 days, but his trainer stated after his Newbury win that he has a bit of quality about him but that he was immature last term. Perhaps he's just needed time to develop rather than any sort of setback.

Saffie Osborne is an interesting booking for the yard, and she's 6-31 this season at Wolverhampton at a strike-rate of 19% and a profit to level stakes of +4.50.
