Alan is hoping to round off his day with a winner at Sedgefield with an each-way selection

Alan Dudman has landed one each-way multiple this week and he is playing two for the places today at Huntingdon and Sedgefield with an 89/1 double...

Clapton to make an impact on handicap debut with five places EW

Back Clapton Hill each-way @ 9.08/1 in the 13:00 at Huntingdon

We went for the James Moffatt angle at Catterick yesterday and but was felled in our quest as Bingoo's number didn't come up in third, and Lady Bowes went well for second and hit 2.56/4. Out of Moffatt's five runners yesterday he had a winner, two placed, a faller and a pulled up.

The each-way angle for the multiple of late has proved a help and using the Extra Place Special on the Sportsbook in Huntingdon's opener, the handicap debutant Clapton Hill fits the bill at 8/1 with the five places as there are 16 runners - quite a rarity for a weekday.

It goes without saying if you have latched onto the Ben Pauling yard, you are doing well. Pauling is 7-25 in the last fortnight, 10-47 in the last month and 2-10 at Huntingdon this term - so he's been floating around 20 to 25%.

Clapton Hill has got a nice mark of 104 judged on his debut performance in a Warwick bumper last March. He was green in that but stayed on behind a nice sort of Olly Murphy's. The overall race didn't look strong, but the winner Strong Leader has bolted up in an Aintree Novice Hurdle this term.

His two hurdling to starts to date have seen him jump less than fluent on occasions, and he was ragged in the early stages at Fontwell on the first of those, while his latest Hereford effort saw him make a mistake late on, with the ground perhaps a little on the soft side as his jockey went wide in search of the better surface - which is often a tactic and path we see at Hereford.

He's a half-brother to Thyme Hill, and I've read this morning his mark doesn't look lenient. I'd disagree with 104 judged on Fontwell and Warwick and Huntingdon tends to have a sounder surface which should help him.

The yard's Luca Morgan can claim 3lb and he's enjoying a terrific season with 33 winners and is a big part of the Pauling team. Indeed, a friend recently visited the training base, and it's state of the art with voice-activated drinks machines. Fancy that!

Coral to leave rivals blue as a potential front-runner

Back Coral Blue each-way @ 11.010/1 in the 13:50 at Sedgefield

We can use the Extra Place Special again for the second leg at Sedgefield, and there's every chance that Coral Blue will make the running in the 13:50, and from a decent price of 9/1 should also throw up the chance to trade out for a back-to-lay bet.

The 8yo has got a ton of experience over hurdles and raced a fair bit in Ireland with a couple of previous trainers and faced some better opposition than he does today. With a recent first and second, I am surprised he is as big as 9/1.

His victory was a front-running success at Kelso in soft conditions previously and he set a good pace throughout to take advantage of a good mark in comparison to his old Irish form. His latest effort was a runner-up place at Newcastle from a 6lb higher mark behind a far stronger stayer on quicker ground.

Soft conditions will suit today, he's proven in 0-100 grade and 2m4f looks his best trip.
