Alan has unearthed a couple of interesting runners for the Tramore fixture on Thursday evening

"His mount isn't a win machine by any means, and she mixes hurdles and chasing, but she's not too shabbily treated from 88, especially with Buckley's 5lb claim."

Alan had his fifth individual winner yesterday in five days, but missed the double with an agonising second. His Thursday multiple is at Tramore that pays 32/1...

No secrets with Doyle's chances to topple market leader

Yesterday's column saw another winner and second, with the latter (At Liberty) reeled in on the line and done at 1.51/2 in-play. Still, it's five single winners in five days so it's nice to be back in some kind of form. There's also the Cash Out facility to bear in mind, but a second double of the week doesn't seem too far away.

Not too many of the participants in the 19:00 2m Handicap Hurdle at Tramore are in any sort of form at the moment although Downthecellar has been knocking on the door with a couple of recent seconds.

However, I think Secret Sea has a good chance here with quick ground and hopefully a good pace to aim at, although "hopefully" doth butter no parsnips. A handful are down on my list as handy racers - including Downthecellar, and I can see that one making it.

Secret Sea has been running on the Flat this summer and scored with a fairly smooth win at Tipperary over 1m4f. That was the quickest ground she had encountered, but had no issues considering she'd landed races with ease in the surface.

She's had a few hard luck stories since, as she was done at 1.111/9 having travelled very well in June, and was second at Killarney in July where she could have done with a better gallop.

The 5yo did win over hurdles in October at Limerick, and won comfortably too from a mark of 92. She seems to like these tight, sharp tracks and she can still win races from her current figure of 100.

Last time she was beaten 6L at Galway, but I am happy to cross that out considering it was soft and there are so many at Ballybrit during the festival there that don't get a run.

Eoin Doyle trains the selection, although he'll have to go some to catch Willie Mullins and has ridiculous strike-rate at Tramore this term; it's at 83% with five winners from six. Luckily the Closutton maestro doesn't have a runner in this.

Those numbers are just not fair on the others!

Family's fortunes could revolve around the favourite's runner-up record

Sticking with Tramore, surely the favourite He's Leading Me On is beatable with a string of four runner-up positions coming into tonight?

He has been well beaten in those four efforts too - and a pertinent point to mention is that he has never traded odds-on in all four of those runs. Ergo, he hasn't really looked like winning either. If I was doing the tissue, of course I'd have him as favourite too, but his record suggests one to avoid.

Echoes Of Family is far more interesting, and it's good to see Kieran Buckley riding tonight, as he has made the move to Ireland from Nigel Hawke in the UK to have a crack at a career there. He's primarily with Gavin Cromwell, but the "outside" yard of Eddie and Patrick Harty's have booked him this evening.

His mount isn't a win machine by any means, and she mixes hurdles and chasing, but she's not too shabbily treated from 88, especially with Buckley's 5lb claim.

She suffered a 20L defeat last time out, but a bad jumping error put paid to any chance she had.

The 10yo needs producing very late, Harchibald style almost. She won at Fairyhouse over fences last April over slightly further than today's distance and won't mind the trip reducer today either back down to 2m4f as they should go a better pace over hurdles. I can see her sticking to the inside with a late Buckley move.
