Bucephalus is overpriced at Ffos Las
The presence of Totterdown and John Betjeman means this two-mile handicap hurdle is likely to be strongly run and I think that will suit the strong-travelling Bucephalus.
On his latest start at Bangor, he cruised to the front turning the final bend before being headed at the last by Balhambar and was no match for that rival on the run-in. The winner was since beaten by subsequent Swinton Hurdle winner Pickanumber and is now rated 11lb higher than when beating Bucephalus.
The ground is quicker today than has been the case on Bucephalus' recent starts but he ran well at Kempton earlier in the season on similar ground when he got to the front far too soon and made mistakes at the last two hurdles.
The tongue tie that has been applied of late seems to have helped him and Adam Ryan, who takes over in the saddle today, has looked better than the average 7lb claimer. Any 4/15.00 or bigger appeals.
Back Bucephalus in the 14:30 at Ffos Las 1pt e/w at 5/16.00
