It's the first of 10 DP World Tour events scheduled for the British Isles this calendar year, with three of these tournaments to be staged in England.
As with 12 months ago, the tournament will be hosted by Danny Willett and played over The Belfry's iconic Brabazon layout.
Located close to the M6 Toll Road in Sutton Coldfield, the Brabazon is a flat parkland course that is well-bunkered, with water coming into play on 10 holes.
The Brabazon made its name as a four-time host of the Ryder Cup (1985-89-93-2002) and demands good course management skills, along with an ability to read its many undulating putting surfaces.
Co-designed by two Ryder Cup stalwarts from the 1950s and 1960s - Dave Thomas and Peter Alliss - the venue returned to the DP World Tour schedule in August 2020 following an absence of 12 years.
Located approximately eight miles from the centre of Birmingham, The Belfry opened for business during the mid-1970s and this week will welcome seven of the world's top 100 ranked golfers.

Four To Watch
Laurie Canter: Will tee-up at The Belfry frustrated by his back-nine performance in Spain on Sunday - when he posted a podium finish - but satisfied by his overall form. On his most recent outing on English soil, he tied-for-second at Wentworth last September.
Nicolai Hojgaard: A winner on Tour already this year, the young Dane will be trying to emulate brother Rasmus who triumphed at The Belfry in 2020.
Robert MacIntyre: Has made a steady start to 2022. He tees-up at Sutton Coldfield after making five appearances in the United States. Top-10 finish at The Belfry last year.
Adrian Meronk: The 28-year-old from Poland has posted back-to-back podium finishes, albeit five weeks apart. Following his tie-for-third in Spain on Sunday, he Tweeted: 'Felt great to be in contention again. Satisfied with my game over the weekend and ready for my next challenge.' He also tied-third at The Belfry last year.
