Tournament Notes
• The DP World Tour makes a second trip to Germany this month;
• Event dates back to 1989 and will be played once again at Munchen Eichenried, located approximately 12 miles north-west of Munich city centre;
• Rarely does anyone pull away from the field on a course that yields its fair share of birdies. In the last 14 instalments, six have gone to a play-off, while another half-a-dozen have yielded one-stroke victories.
Course Notes
• Following the 2017 edition, the course underwent some major modifications, that included lengthening it by around 50 yards;
• The biggest changes were reserved for the greens. All 18 were renovated, with many of the putting surfaces re-contoured which made them a lot more undulating than before;
• New trees are planted each year and, to provide a better viewing experience for spectators, numerous mounds were built on what is a largely flat venue;
• Many of these mounds are close to greens, while others run alongside generously spacious fairways;
• Eichenried is a tree-lined course where water comes into play on seven holes;
• However, it remains a relatively straightforward parkland layout where having a hot putter is the key to winning at Eichenried.

Five To Watch
Jorge Campillo 28/129.00: Stood on the Munchen Eichenried podium two years ago and has enjoyed a solid DP World Tour campaign during 2023, that includes a victory in March.
Takumi Kanaya 25/126.00: Japan's third-highest ranked pro at No 114 has been in great form on his home tour recently. Last three starts have all yielded top-three finishes, including one victory. Making his third trip to this event.
Romain Langasque 22/123.00: A decent season so far, highlighted by a runners-up finish in Italy last month. Tied-10th in Germany three weeks' ago and tied-fifth at Munchen Eichenried last year.
Pablo Larrazabal 28/129.00: Chasing both his third victory of the season but also a third win at this course. The 40-year-old Spaniard tied-fifth here last year.
Yannik Paul 20/121.00: Probably Germany's best hope of crowning a home winner this week. The world No 99 has stood on three DP World Tour podiums this year, but without holding aloft the trophy. This included a tie-for-third on his last outing in Sweden.
