Golf betting experts Steve Rawlings, Dave Tindall and more are on the hunt for value with their best bets for this week's Scottish Open - the last tournament before next week's Open Championship at Royal Birkdale - and ISCO Championship...

Scottish Open tips and predictions

The Punter's Preview: Wyndham Clark a worthy wager at 35/136.00

Steve Rawlings: In the last few months Wyndham Clark has won both the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the US Open, and he's also finished third in the Memorial Tournament, 11th in the Canadian Open and fifth last time out in the Travelers Championship, just one week after his stunning wire-to-wire win at Shinnecock.

Clark has been putting brilliantly over the last two months, and he's got course form figures reading 16-25-10-11.

He sat third last year with 18 to play before shooting 71 on Sunday to slip down the leaderboard but he signed off the 2024 edition with a final round of 62 so the venue clearly suits his eye.

Clark is just one of those players that the market just doesn't like and he very often represents value, as he does here at odds in excess of 33/134.00.

Each-way Tips: Back former-champ Mac at 30/1

Dave Tindall: The Renaissance Club was the scene of one of Robert MacIntyre's finest hours on a golf course when he won his home Scottish Open in 2024. In fairytale fashion, he did it by holing a 22-footer for birdie on the last. "It's the one I wanted and the one I got," he said later after edging out Adam Scott.

Twelve months earlier he'd been pipped for the title by Rory McIlroy and could consider himself mighty unfortunate. One behind with two tough holes to play given the conditions, McIlroy birdied both.

Almost winning this twice tells us that his 2024 triumph wasn't an isolated case of a big performance at home. For further evidence, we only have to go back to October to see MacIntyre capturing the prestigious Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the annual event played at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.

First Round Leader Tips: Back course specialist at 60/161.00

Dave Tindall: The case for Tom Kim is very similar to that of Theegala. The Korean also has recent experience of an 18-hole lead after carding a 64 on day one of the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas.

But his biggest appeal is course form. Kim has played this event four times and has finishes (2022-2025) of 3-6-15-17. In two of those he opened with a 66 which put him in the top 10 after day one in both 2023 and 2025.

This is a special tournament for Kim as he explained in 2023.

"This is where it started for me here, finishing third and edging close to that temporary status (on the PGA Tour). I love Scotland. The fresh air, I could live here. It's absolutely amazing."

Let's hope he relishes another great day on the links and thrives from his 07:11 (10th) tee time.

Course and current form stats

Current Form Pick: The world number one arrives at this links event after recent near misses - finishing second at the Travelers Championship and T4 at the US Open - and would love to set himself for next week's Open by winning here.

Isco Championship tips and predictions

The Punter's Preview: Hodges a fair price at 50/151.00

Steve Rawlings: Having been tied for the lead with 18 holes to play at the John Deere Classic last week, Lee Hodges will be disappointed by his two-under-par 69 on Sunday that saw him slip to tied third.

He was matched at a low of 2.526/4 after he'd played the first three holes in two-under-par, but he stalled after that to eventually lose by a couple of strokes but I'm happy to chance him here at 50.049/1.

Hodges won his one and only title to date in July 2023 after telegraphing his wellbeing with a 12th place finish in this week's other event, the Scottish Open.

He missed the cut in the Open Championship the following week but returned to the States to hack up by six strokes at the 3M Open.

He's had numerous spells where he's hit form and held it so in an event as weak as this, he looks very fairly priced after such a strong showing in Illinois.

Big Price Golf Tips: Two time winner deserves respect

Steve Rawlings: Anyone that's won twice on the PGA Tour before they turn 21 has plenty of game and they deserve respect.

Nick Dunlop won his first event - The American Express - when still an amateur in January 2024 and he followed that win with victory in the Barracuda Championship in July 2024.

That was a remarkable start to his career so it's perhaps not surprising that he's lost his way a bit subsequently, but he caught the eye at the John Deere Classic last week, where he shot three rounds of 67.

Dunlap's 72 on Friday saw him slip to 60th place entering the weekend so his tied 33rd was admirable effort.

In an event that has gone to someone in their mid-20s in each of the last three years, the 22-year-old Dunlap looks worth chancing at 140.0139/1.

Course and form stats

Current Form Pick: Max Homa was runner up at the John Deere Classic last week, just one shot off the winner. It was by far his best finish for a while but followed a top 20 at the Canadian Open. Of all the players in the field, he tops the list for World Ranking points accumulated this year.
