Football Bet of the Day: Canaries to fly high in Finland

In Norway yesterday, Kristiansund conceded early, but equalised late to save Kev's stake. He steps out of the chair now for a week, but we're keeping the column in northern Europe for at least one more day.

The Monday game from Finland's top-flight Veikkausliiga pits VPS, who are second bottom of the 12-team league, at home to sixth-placed KuPS. Six of KuPS's most recent eight trips to VPS have delivered Over 2.5 Goals and that's our odds-against bet for today's encounter.

As befits their lowly position, VPS are yet to keep a clean sheet in five appearances at Hietalahti. They have performed better in attack, scoring themselves in 4/5 of those matches. KuPS lost their last away game 0-1 at top-of-the-table Inter Turku. Prior to that defeat, however, they had scored nine times across their first four road trips of the current campaign and will fancy their chances against a shaky home defence this afternoon. At the other end, the Canaries have conceded eight in five away from home, so their hosts too can contribute to getting this game over the goals line.
