Vikingur Reykjavik v IBV
Tuesday 19:00
There was an uncharacteristic clampdown on goals in the Netherlands last night, with MVV Maastricht sneaking to a 1-0 win.
It would be even more uncharacteristic for a domestic game in Iceland to not throw up at least three goals, but today we're on the side of the underdog.
Vikingur Reykjavik are running eighth in the 12-team Urvalsdeild and can lift themselves to sixth with a win over 10th-placed IBV this evening.
Going back to the end of last season, however, Olafur Thordarson's men have won just 2/13 home games. In their last 14 at Vikingsvollur, the Vikings have only once scored more than twice - a 7-0 blowout against bottom-of-the-table Keflavik. That match aside, they've struck just eight times in seven home games this term. Over a slightly longer period, 8/14 have stayed Under 2.5 Goals.
IBV won their last away game 2-0. It was the first time in eight attempts that they'd won on the road and the first time they'd scored more than once. Half of their eight away matches have finished with Under 2.5 Goals and the odds on another low scorer tonight look too long.
