The second leg of Tobias Gourlay's international-week odyssey takes him to South America

Venezuela v Peru
Thursday 23:30

There was an unexpected barnstormer in Larnaca yesterday, as hosts Cyprus came from a goal down to beat the Hawks of Kazakhstan 3-1.

Next stop, South America. Venezuela won their most recent home qualifier for the 2018 World Cup 5-0, but it was their first win of the competition and, after 12 rounds, they're bottom of the table. A home game with third-bottom Peru is one of the more obviously winnable of their remaining fixtures.

At the very least, the hosts should find the back of the net. Despite their overall poor form, they've scored in 4/5 on familiar soil and only been shut out by top-of-the-table Brazil. The four games in which they scored all went Over 2.5 Goals and that's our bet for today.

Visiting Peru have scored eight times on their last three away days, beating other lower-half teams Bolivia and Paraguay 3-0 and 4-1.
