This season Valencia are yet to get off the ground

"Going back into their successful Segunda Division campaign last term, Alaves haven't lost a league game since April"

The Seville derby failed to live up to our hype. Sevilla won 1-0, and we're giving this extra midweek round of La Liga one more go on Thursday night.

After losing each of their first four La Liga games of the season, Valencia have now lost boss Pako Ayesteran. On the lookout for their ninth coach since 2012, we think Thursday's home game with Alaves has been priced up on reputation, rather than form.

Mauricio Pellegrino's Alaves have conceded just twice in their first four games back in the top flight and remain unbeaten. Going back into their successful Segunda Division campaign last term, they haven't lost a league game since April, and have been beaten only once in 13.

Of course, Valencia might enjoy a bounce as they make yet another fresh start but, having offloaded lots of talent in the offseason (Shkodran Mustafi, Andre Gomes, Paco Alcacer, Alvaro Negredo, we could go on...), we reckon they're just as likely to flop again.
