Jamaica v El Salvador
Tuesday 23:00 (Live on BT Sport ESPN)
Haiti 1 Honduras 0 in Group A of the Gold Cup last night.
Not good, but we have a plan B in Group B...
Recently seen losing very narrowly to the Latino powerhouses of Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina in the Copa America, Jamaica couldn't be much better prepared for the Gold Cup.
So far, the Reggae Boyz have drawn 2-2 with a decent Costa Rica side and beaten hosts Canada 1-0. Since November last year, Winfried Schafer's men are unbeaten outside of that Copa America in Chile (W5-D3-L0). Going slightly further back, they've conceded more than once in just 1/12 matches, notching five clean sheets.
Having drawn their first two matches, the only way El Salvador can make sure of their place in the knockout stages is with a win. Anything less and their continued participation will be entirely in the hands of others. But the harder they come...
Albert Roca's lot won a two-legged World Cup qualifier with little St Kitts & Nevis 6-3 recently, but before that had failed to score in four consecutive friendlies, and we're not convinced they can break down the group leaders tonight.
