Hugo Lloris
Goalkeepers tend to have a huge say in major tournaments and, in Lloris, France have one of the best in the business. Lloris has been producing miracles at Lyon for the best part of four seasons and a record of five clean sheets in Ligue 1 this season is more a reflection of those in front of him. Lloris almost single-handedly dragged Lyon to the last four of the Champions League in 2010 and Blanc's decision to name him skipper is an inspired one.
Mathieu Debuchy
Lille's right-back is set to deputise for Bacary Sagna, after enjoying yet another fine season in domestic football. Debuchy, who was first drafted into the squad in October after Sagna suffered a broken leg, has been capped just three times for his country. The 26-year-old made 38 starts for Lille this season, scoring on five occasions, but also picked up 12 yellow cards and one red along the way. Debuchy was cautioned in two of his three appearances for Les Bleus.
Yann M'Vila
Still only 21, M'Vila could well be strutting his stuff in the Premier League next season, after fast establishing himself as a mainstay in France's midfield. M'Vila has now been capped 18 times for France and was an ever present in Rennes' league campaign this term. He started all but two of ten fixtures in France's qualifying campaign, scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory in Albania.
Olivier Giroud
Giroud has forced his way into the reckoning after firing Montpellier to their first French title. The 25-year-old netted 21 league goals, including two hat-tricks, and opened his account in international football to boot. For all his exploits this season, Giroud is likely to play second fiddle to Real Madrid's Karim Benzema, who has plundered 32 goals for club and country this term. Benzema can be backed at 18.535/2 to be the top goal scorer at the Euros.
Jeremy Menez
Menez is one of very few Paris St-Germain players to see their stock rise in a season where they have miserably underachieved. The 25-year-old made 33 league starts, scoring eight goals, and is now considered more worthy of a spot in the final 23 than Lyon's Yoann Gourcuff. Gourcuff has suffered a dramatic fall from grace in a season blighted by injuries and a loss of form, and is arguably fortunate to have been named in his former Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc's preliminary squad.
France are currently 14.013/1 to lift the trophy this summer.
