Multan Sultans v Peshawar Zalmi team news

Sultans returned to form at the right time with a comprehensive win over Quetta to confirm a top-two slot. They have revamped their batting preferring the hitting of Johnson Charles to Dawid Malan. They are reliant on five bowler only with Iftikhar Ahmed sometimes not used even when going round the park.

Probable XI: Yasir, Rizwan, Usman, Charles, Iftikhar, Tayyab, Jordan, Willey, Usama, Abbas, Ali

Zalmi have won their last three and six of their last seven. Included in that sequence are five- and four-run wins against Sultans. They defended 157 against Karachi last time out. Tom Kohler-Cadmore is a go-slow problem in the middle-order. Moving up Rovman Powell and bringing in Paul Walter may make sense.

Probable XI: Babar, Ayub, Haris, Haseebullah, Kohler-Cadmore, Powell, Jamal, Wood, Naveen, Mumtaz, Aimal

Multan Sultans v Peshawar Zalmi pitch report

Three from seven this term at Karachi have meant unders on a tissue par line of 165.5 were winners. Zalmi defended versus Karachi on this ground. Sultans posted 185 against a poor Quetta team. Zalmi hit 174 and 204 when the sides met previously. Run-rate mathematics suggest Zalmi shoud be on for around 173 batting first and Multan 183. The par line at 175.5 will sneak up for the latter. Sportsbook go 8/52.60 that both teams score 180.

Multan Sultans v Peshawar Zalmi match odds

That 10-run swing in favour of Multan on first-innings and Zalmi's two narrow head-to-head wins suggest a close game. Zalmi may be underrated, then, at 2.3611/8.

Could the toss make all the difference? Four from seven have been won by the chaser at Karachi and Kings were within two runs of getting up against Zalmi.

At the least Zalmi should be capable of flipping these odds in the chase. They can be pricey with the ball but if they can keep to Sultans to 180-200 we should have a game one.

Backing Zalmi at the current price and then laying at 1.705/7 with an extra 50% on the original stake is the plan.

Trade Zalmi to 1.705/7
