Desert Vipers v MI Emirates ILT20 tips

Desert Vipers have suffered a blow by losing Shimron Hetmyer to a hamstring injury for the rest of the tournament. Hetmyer has not been crucial to the team's success this season in terms of high scores but his 111 runs have come at a rapid rate of more than 160.

Jason Roy is his replacement. Coach Tom Moody did his best to put a positive gloss on the churn. "We are extremely disappointed to lose a player of Shimron's quality and experience as he has played a positive role in our squad this season, but securing someone of Jason's pedigree and experience certainly softens that blow," he said.

"Jason ticks all the boxes for us. He knows the format inside-out, he is a versatile batter who can go through the gears, he provides us options up and down the order, he has been playing recently and he has experience in the ILT20."

Roy probably doesn't tick all the boxes for us punters and Vipers must be considered weaker and against a potentially powerful Mi Emirates they have to be considered vulnerable if the massive toss bias was to go against them. Emirates went into Sunday in second position havign won back-to-back ganmes for the first time.

The match odds, however, have Emirates favourites at 1.875/6. So if 2.1011/10 Vipers is available on them with the chase in their favour then we would be happy to play

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders v Sharjah Warriors

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders v Sharjah Warriors  ILT20 tips

Both Knight Riders (two) and Sharjah (three) are probably going to have to win their remaining matches to guarantee a play-off spot. Not that it would make much impact if they did make it into the final stages. They are two poor teams and are not good enough to put together the sequence required to win the title.

Unfortunately there's no toss bias at Abu Dhabi to help us separate the units. It is likely to be a case of who is the worst on the day Sharajah may have given up the ghost having been humiliated by Vipers last time out. They were razed for 90.

There are some players overdue a win on tops. Tom Kohler-Cadmore, the Sharjah opener, has had a disappointing campaign but the 16/54.20 may be worth a twirl. Johnson Charles is very reliable in this market but if Sharjah bat second he could be subbed in meaning it would be betting without the West Indian.

With the ball, Jason Holder should be clear favourite for top ADKR wicket-taker. The 3/14.00 is big value on a player who has won this market 44% of the time in ILT20.
