Gulf Giants v MI Emirates ILT20 tips

There's often one team in a franchise league that starts well and then suffers a disastrous collapse. In ILT20 this season it is Gulf Giants who won three of their first four and have beaten in every game since. It's four straight defeats but not wholly surprising.

The first game they lost was a Super Over against Vipers when they made such a braindead decision not to use their best ball strikers in the six-ball thrash that you knew something was up. Giants are going to have win their last two to guarantee a play-off.

Emirates are in good touch. They go into this contest in second place off the back of three straight wins. That includes beating leaders Vipers to suggest the balance of power in the tournament is shifting.

The six-wicket win on the head-to-head for these two right at the start is probably irrelevant in terms of recent form. With no toss bias at Abu Dhabi Emirates are expected to take the points. The match odds are about right at 1.625/8 Emirates.

A top-rated bet is Aayan Khan for top Gulf bowler. We know the slow left-arm spinner gives us a terrific win rate and Sportsbook underrate his ability at 9/25.50

Dubai Capitals v Sharjah Warriors

Dubai Capitals v Sharjah Warriors  ILT20 tips

In 38 night matches in Dubai 26 have been won by the team batting second. So before the toss has taken place this really should be a choice affair with the side batting second shortening up significantly.

An early show has the Dub Caps priced if they have already won the flip, though, at 1.774/5. Bet blind now and if Sharjah chase you have a perfectly serviceable bet at 2.226/5.

The reason for the bias under lights at this venue is the dew factor. The ball will collect the moisture later on in the evening making it harder for bowlers to grip the ball and get accuracy. It also nips off the surface nicely giving batters a bit of extra pace to work with.

The toss can impact player bets in a negative way, of course. You don't really want to be on a bowler with a wet ball for example. Batter bets might make more sense and to that end we note the 3/14.00 about Tom Kohler-Cadmore who is in the win zone for top Sharjah bat.
