Sunrisers Hyderabad v Delhi Capitals IPL team news

Sunrisres Hyderabad have won three from six. It's probably a better return than many would have expected. Two wins have come in their last two, beating Rajasthan and Chennai. The Rajasthan victory was impressive while Chennai are not expected to be a pushover.

The key to SRH continuing decent form will be the longevity of Sakib Hussain and Eshan Malinga. Jayden Unadkat now can't get into the XI with these two performing, potentially finally helping to solve an issue of long-standing profligacy in the field.

Abhishek Sharma's destructive form with the bat has returned aftre a disappointing World Cup. They would like a big score from Travis Head at some stage, too. Pat Cummins is still not ready to play. Gerald Coetzee has replaced the injured David Payne in the squad.

Possible XI: Abhishek, Head (sub Sakib), Kishan, Klaasen, Reddy, Verma, Arora, Dubey, Shivang, Malinga

Delhi Capitals snapped a two-game losing sequence with a win over Bangalore. It was a result that should rival SRH's win over Royals for best performance of the season so far.

They look to have the durability to mount a play-off challenge. Arguably they should have one more win than they do thanks to David Miller's mistake against Gujarat.

Lungi Ngidi's form has been exceptional and he pinned RCB for another two wickets. It means they are not missing Mitchell Starc which is just as well as there seems to be no news on his arrival.  Axar Patel retired hurt against Bangalore with what seemed to be cramp. It is not expected he misses out here.

Possible XI:  Nissanka, Rahul, Nair (sub Mukesh kumar), Rizvi, Stubbs, Axar, Miller, Auqib, Kuldeep, Ngidi, Natarajan.

Sunrisers Hyderabad v Delhi Capitals  IPL pitch report

Sunrisers appeared to be batting on a different surface at Hyderabad v Chennai. They hit nine sixes as they posted 194. Chennai rarely looked like chasing it as they struggled for timing and power, hitting just four sixes. The par line is expected to be at that 200 mark again but we would not be averse to going for a lower total. A waiting game is required.

There is one strip at Hyderabad that is slow and tacky. That has been used once so far in the match against Lucknow when the hosts made only 156 in a tight game. It should be confirmed pre-toss and those with quick fingers should be able to short high.

Sunrisers Hyderabad v Delhi Capitals match prediction

The pitch being used is crucial for this contest. Sunrisers would need their head checked if they used the slow, tacky track as it would perfectly play into Delhi's skillset. They do appear to have plenty of nous and gumption in the field.

What they lack is batting power up front and Sunrisers, batting first on a belter, could blow them away. With Abhishek and Head aggressive, Sunrisers can get off to a very quick start indeed. Delhi with the more circumspect KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka, who is still finding his way in the tournament, might not be able to keep up.

If there is anything in the surface, SRH may remain pretty one-dimensional despite a change in selection. Delhi would rate as a cleverer unit at this stage and should be able to squeeze. Delhi would not be outsiders in that context and the 2.1211/10 available on a Delhi win is tempting indeed.

Sunrisers Hyderabad v Delhi Capitals IPL player bets

Travis Head may be worth following consistently for a top-bat win Sportsbook's 16/54.20 from now on. he should deliver a a notable score at some stage. he has had no issues with his scoring rate so suggestions that he in some sort of funk are wide of the mark. Nissanka should also produce for Delhi. he's too good a player to miss out for long. but we would much prefer to be on him on a confirmed road to aid his strikeplay. Sportsbook's 4/15.00 is toppy for an opener.
