Mumbai Indians v Delhi Capitals

TV: Live on Sky Sports

Mumbai Indians v Delhi Capitals team news

Mumbai could welcome back Suryakumar Yadav from injury in a desperate bid to kickstart their campaign. What might also help is picking elite players like Nehal Wadhere and Nuwan Thushara. Or burgeoning talent like Vishnu Vinod instead of the waster that is Ishan Kishan.

Possible XI: Rohit, Ishan, Yadav, Dhir, Tilak, Hardik, David, Chawla, Coetzee, Bumrah, Madhwal

The selection of Prithvi Shaw makes sense at the top of the order but there was little he could do to help after Capitals bowlers conceded 272 against Kolkata. It was a damning defeat and confirms that they have serious issues with both major disciplines.

Probable XI: Shaw, Warner, M Marsh, Pant, Stubbs, Porel/Khaleel (subs), Axar, Sumit, Salam, Nortje, Ishant

Mumbai Indians v Delhi Capitals pitch report

More than 200 has been busted in the first-innings in four of the last six at the Wankhede. But Mumbai were pathetic against Royals, mustering only 125. Given the flat pitch and the wasteful Delhi attack, it's tempting to consider an overs play if the par line market settles at 185.5 but we're worried about Mumbai's gumption.

Mumbai Indians v Delhi Capitals match odds

To that end it seems almost impossible to consider them a value bet, then, at prohibitive odds of 1.695/7. It's a truly dreadful price about a team that has been, well, truly dreadful. And getting worse.

Delhi have been marginally better and at least they can claim to have pulled out a strong performance against Chennai. For that reason alone one could make a case for them being the wrong price.

Mumbai Indians v Delhi Capitals Exchange strategy

Instead of letting a bet on Delhi run, the best advice is to consider a trade on them to favourite status.

There's nothing in the formbook this season that suggests Mumbai suddenly put a dominant performance together and these two could trade blows. If Delhi come into 1.804/5 add an extra 50% to the original stake on the lay button.

Mumbai Indians v Delhi Capitals player bets

Rohit Sharma is boosted to 12/53.40 by Sportsbook but has won only 9% of the time in the last three tournaments (including this one). It's an incredibly bad return. Instead we're waiting for Sky's listing and expect to get around 3/14.00 or 7/24.50. The former is available on the exchange. He wins 33% of the time.

Back Suryakumar Yadav top MI bat @ 3/14.00
