West Indies v India second T20 team news
West Indies have a 2-0 lead with three to play after stealing a thriller in Providence on Sunday night. They looked to be cruising in a chase of 153 when Nic Pooran and Rovman Powell were at the crease.
But a mini collapse meant Akeal Hosein needed to deliver some lusty blows and he didn't disappoint.
Probable XI: King, Mayer, Charles, Pooran, Powell, Hetmyer, Shepherd, Holder, Akeal, Joseph, McCoy
India may look to revamp their batting after the second flop in a row. Yas Jaiswal looks certain to come in with Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson stepping aside.
Only Tilak Varma, with a second top-bat, has shown enough gumption to trouble the West Indies bowlers.
They may make another switch with the ball. Ravi Bishnoi came in for Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar may get a rest. Avesh Khan or Umran Malik could come in.
Possible XI: Jaiswal, Gill, Yadav, Varma, Samson, Hardik, Axar, Bishnoi, Arshdeep, Chahal, Umran
West Indies v India second T20 pitch report
Seven in the last 11 first-innings have busted 160 at Providence. India's 152 was below par for that sequence. It appeard to be an old-style Providence wicket with pace-off important.
That should mean India can adapt with the ball and put a squeeze on the hosts if they were to bat first. Fingers crossed for an opportunity to short in the low 160s.
West Indies v India second T20 match odds
West Indies are 2.789/5 with India 1.558/15. It's a skinny price about the latter given the scoreline.
India's issue on a tacky surface is a long tail. They are an all-rounder short and are probably thinking wistfully of a Ravi Jadeja or Shardul Thakur.
It could be inhibiting their batters at the top. By contrast West Indies, through Nic Pooran, are playing with more freedom. For that reason a trade on Windies to make favourite status seems sound.
West Indies can get the spinners to work, advise pacers to bowl cutters and put more pressure on India. With a 2-0 lead they can put themselves into a position for an unassailable lead.
West Indies v India second T20 player bets
Pooran's excellent Providence form came to the fore again as discussed in match preview two.
His 67 from 40 was entirely in keeping with his ground record. Sportsbook make him 10/34.33 for top bat.
For India, Suryakumar Yadav retains win-rate value even though he's shortened up to 3/14.00. Varma is 11/26.50. Jaiswal looks toppy given he will open if he plays at 7/24.50.
Considering that top-order fallibility, Axar Patel might also be considered a value wager at 20/121.00. He has done well in the Caribbean in the past.
With the ball we're always interested in big prices about Arshdeep Singh considering his death duty. The 7/24.50 could prove popular.
