West Indies second T20 team news
West Indies have produced two strong performances in this tour, the latest coming in Tarouba when they held on to win by four runs. They produced a superb bowling display to restrict India to 145 chasing 150.
Jason Holder took two wickets with an economy of 4.75 and Akeal Hosein one for 4.25. It was a lesson as to what they can do when they select with common sense.
West Indies will want more from Nic Pooran and Johnson Charles with the bat but there are signs they will be more than competitive. Alzarri Joseph may miss out for Roston Chase on a pitch which could take turn.
Probable XI: King, Mayer, Charles, Pooran, Powell, Hetmyer, Chase, Shepherd, Holder, Akeal, Joseph, McCoy
India second T20 team news
India's fringe players at some stage need to step up. This should be a superior batting line-up with slow-coaches Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma missing.
But they never got going in the chase, notably Suryakumar Yadav's 21 from 21. Only Tilak Varma brought IPL form. They could bring in Yas Jaiswal with one of Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson missing out.
Mukesh Kumar may go out with the ball for Avesh Khan or Umran Malik. The three spinners the used in Tarouba could find Providence more to their liking.
Possible XI: Ishan, Gill, Yadav, Varma, Hardik, Samson, Axar, Kuldeep, Arshdeep, Chahal, Avesh
West Indies v India second T20 pitch report
Providence used to be a nightmare for batters but it has improved markedly over the last 10 completed games. More than 160 has been busted seven times in first-innings. Unheard of for those who used to go unders in CPL not so long ago. Some monster scores are included in that sequence - 226, 195 and 194.
It could be the market takes a lead from the first match. We'd be prepared to go long of low 160s on the par line. No rain is forecast.
West Indies v India second T20 match odds
Before the first match we noted that Wesi Indies were bang on the right price with their win rate in the last two years. But from 4.30100/30 to 2.8415/8 it's now prohibitively short.
That means we're eyeing something chunkier on India in-play. The best route for that is if West Indies bat first and the Providence pitch form holds. It is possible we could get close to even money at the break about the tourists.
West Indies v India second T20 player bets
Pooran didn't bring his Major League striking in game one but if he is to do it anyway, it is here. He has a strike rate of 174 in 14 innings at Providence. He is 10/34.33 for top bat for West Indies with Sportsbook.
Yadav was a 4/14.80 pick for the first match for top India bat and he really should have gone on to win. The 7/24.40 looks good, though, considering he batted at No 3 and we were expecting a more heavy cut.
It may be worth considering Pooran and Yadav at bigger prices on the twin markets of player of the match and top match bat. They are closely linked. Pooran is 12/113.00 and 17/29.40 and Yadav 17/29.40 and 6/16.80.
