Sunrisers Eastern Cape v MI Cape Town
Monday 16 January, 15:30
TV: Live on Sky Sports

Team news

Sunrisers have suffered two beatings, living up to pre-tournament rag status. Personification of their struggles is Sare Erwee, the Test opener, opening the batting. Dropping him for Adam Rossington would be a good start to redemption.

Cape Town have the most powerful squad, yet defeat by Durban was a shock. They are two from three. Getting the balance right is key. As much as Sam Curran and George Linde are admirable performers, they are not Nos 5 and 6 respectively.

Sunrisers possible XI: Smuts, Rossington, Cox, Markram, Stubbs, M Ackermann, Fuller, M Jansen, Carse, Baartman

Cape Town possible XI: Brevis, Rickleton, Van der Dussen, Roelofsen, S Curran, Smith, Potgieter, Linde, Rashid, Rabada, Waqar

How to play

Sunrisers are 2.588/5 with Cape Town 1.584/7. There is no toss bias to assist in bridging the gap. The St George's pitch might not be much use, either.

Previously helpful to bowlers, Pretoria Capitals' 193 will suit Cape Town. Likewise the Sunrisers' bowling. They hameorraged 213 against Pretoria in their other meet.

Playing over 180 and 190 on Cape Town if they were to bat first is a decent shout at reasonably chunky odds.

Tops value

Dewald Brevis has been boosted to 13/5 for top Cape Town bat. JJ Smuts gets the same treatement to 4/1. Curran at 8/1 may be consudered chunky. Also, keep an eye on hard-hitter Delano Potgieter at 22s. That doubles very quickly in-play. Kagiso Rabada is third favourite for top bowler for Cape Town and looks a touch of value at 3/1.

Gulf Giants v Dubai Capitals
Monday 16 January, 14:00
TV: Live on BT Sports

Team news

The Giants have a win under their belt at the first attempt. They won easily against the Knight Riders. They could bolster their batting with the addition of Chris Lynn. They looked light on batting talent in their opener.

Dubai's first XI had benefit game written all over it. Robin Uthappa, Joe Root, Ravi Bopaya and Yusuf Pathan are not the sort of 'star's this league was sold on. They should look better once Dasun Shanaka and Chamika Karunaratne arrive.

Giants possible XI: Vince, Ahmed, Lynn, Pope, Hetmyer, Wiese, Jordan, Dawson, Afzaal, Gleeson, Sanchit

Dubai possible XI: Uthappa, Root, Rajapaksa, Powell, Raza, Pathan, Bopara, Udana, Mujeeb, Hazrat, Akif

How to plau

The match odds market can't split these two. We can - so long as they retain faith with winnings XIs. Man for man the Giants are superior here and they should be too strong for a lost and found XI.

The Giants are 2.001/1 currently. We do neeed to keep the Dubai toss bias on side so we'll play if the toss goes their way and pay 1.9010/11.

Tops value

Root has been boosted to 7/2 with Sportsbook but we won't get sucked in. Sikandar Raza has some appeal at 7s for DC. For the Giants, Tom Banton muight not play but the 7/2 is noteworthy. Vince is 13/5.
