Multan Sultans v Islamabad United team news
Last year's runners-up won their first match by beating Karachi. It was a solid batting show backed up by a mean bowling effort as they defended 185 without breaking sweat. Chris Jordan is an option for them. It was a surprise there was no roon for hitter Usman Khan.
Possible XI: Rizwan, Malan, Hendricks, Iftikhar, Khushdil, Yasir, Willer, Usama, Abbas, Ali, Dahani
Islamabad upset a toss bias and the holders in their opener in Lahore. Shadab Khan and Salman Agha produced scintillating knocks from Nos 3 and 4 respectively as they chased 195 with ten balls left. They have strength in depth with pacer Rumann Raees left out.
Possible XI: Hales, Munro, Shadab, Salman, Azam, Haider, Imad, Faheem, Naseem, Mills, Ubaid
Multan Sultans v Islamabad United pitch report
Seven of the last nine first-innings in PSL at Multan have busted 170 or more. Seven have also been won by the team batting first. We're likely to pay 2.01/1 to go over 185.5 on the 20-over par line. That looks a pretty solid bet early doors with the wickets fresh.
Islamabad are our outright pick and it's unlikely we'll be abandoning them on the match odds market with certain caveats.
For a start we'd like to keep the toss bias on side. Secondly, they're set to go off at odds-against. An early show has Multan at 1.824/5 so we're looking at at least 2.1011/10 United.
They look a solid outfit again and have been consistently good in the tournament. They do have the potential to go around the park so we do stress that batting first is key.
Mohammad Rizwan had a rare failure on the top-bat market. Before that innings against Karachi he'd won at 38% in the last two years. So we won't turn down a boosted 11/43.75 from Sportsbook.
There are two more plays. Colin Munro is giving us an edge at [7/2] for top bat on two-year form. With the ball, we'll return to Shadab Khan for most United wickets at 10/34.33.
Abbas Afridi not bowling his full allocation against Karachi means that it's tough to get on board at 4/15.00 despite win rate in his favour for top Multan bowler.
