Guyana Amazon Warriors v St Kitts & Nevis Patriots team news
Guyana are fancied to go well in this tournament. If they can make the play-offs they will enjoy home advantage. Their first match against Kings was washed out, much to their frustration as they were rattling along at more than ten an over.
That's a good omen because with Chandrapaul Hemraj and Shai Hope in the top four they need to be rapid. Saim Ayub, the Pakistan opener, is a good signing and alongside Azam Khan (neither are required for Asia Cup) they should have a settled top order.
Probable XI: Ayub, Hemraj, Azam, Hope, Hetmyer, Shepherd, Paul, Smith, Pretorius, Tahir, Motie
Patriots were well beaten by Tallawahs on Thursday by eight wickets after posting a competitive 156.
Pre-season fears that their pace-heavy attack would be pricey were realised. Tallawahs got to their total in the 17th over.
They are hugely reliant on Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher in the opening berth, two of only three specialist batters. Hence Josh Da Silva batting at No 3. Ambati Rayudu made a duck.
Probable XI: Lewis, Fletcher, Da Silva, Bosch, Rayudu, Rutherford, Linde, Drakes, Cottrell, Muzarbani, Rutherford
Guyana Amazon Warriors v St Kitts & Nevis Patriots pitch report
More than 160 at Warner Park is close to an even money chance in the first dig with ten copping in the last 21. There's no toss bias. Given that Patriots did well to get close to that 160 figure with weak batting and Tallawahs won in 16.3 overs, one suspects it could be perhaps a little flatter than before.
Guyana to bust the par line at around 160.5 batting first could be a sound option, then. It could get cheap in-play if Guyana look to build a platform for hitters like Shimron Hetmyer at the death.
Guyana Amazon Warriors v St Kitts & Nevis Patriots match odds
Guyana are 1.845/6 for this one. In time, that might look a very good price indeed, particularly against Patriots.
Man for man they are superior - largely because they have actual batters - but their approach with the ball is more balanced. They have three pace options and then two superb spinners in Imran Tahir and Gudakesh Motie.
That means they should be effective in all conditions. At Basseterre they should be able to problem solve anything the pitch throws up and take the points.
Guyana Amazon Warriors v St Kitts & Nevis Patriots player bets
Ayub is a mistake at 9/25.30 for top Guyana bat considering he opened last time. It's arguable that Azam is also too short at 4/14.80 batting at No 3. There's another eyecatcher at the same slot for Patriots - Da Silva at 11/26.40 after topping last time out.
