Perth Scorchers v Syndey Sixers team news

Marcus Harris has signed for Perth for the remainder of the season. He could come straight in as opener in place of Sam Whiteman who has struggled. Jhye Ricjardson is out for the season with injury while Laurie Evans plays his last game before leaving for the ILT20.

Probable XI: Eskinazi, Harris, Hardie, Inglis, Evans, Connolly, Hobson, A Agar, Tye, Behrendorff, Morris

Steve Smith has departed Sixers for Test duty. Tom Curran has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign. Kurtis Patterson could come into contention as an option at No 3. Jackson Bird could come in as a pacer on a quick Perth track instead of Todd Murphy.

Possible XI: Philippe, Vince, Patterson, Henriques, Silk, Edwards, Kerr, Abbott, Dwarshuis, Bird, O'Keefe

Perth Scorchers v Syndey Sixers pitch report

Sixteen of the last 26 first-innings at the Optus have busted 160 with eleven won by the chaser but eight of those came in the last twelve. Perth have an average economy of 7.6 and Sixers 7.4 so this may have the feel of an unders play on a high line.

Perth Scorchers v Syndey Sixers match odds

This is a crucial contest with the winner finishing in the top two and therefore getting two opportunities too book a final spot. Perth are 1.705/7 with Sydney Sixers 2.407/5.

That's a surprisingly big gulf and one which is hard to justify. Sixers are not the reliable side of old and their batting is significantly weaker but a player drain for the hosts brings them closer to each other.

Scorchers have lost Zak Crawley, Ashton Turner and Richardson. Harris stepping in from the cold may not solve their opening issue immediately.
