New Approach was trading at 209-1 on Betfair six days before his Epsom Derby win, but no such ante-post generosity is on offer this week as the Irish equivalent beckons and Jim Bolger's colt is only 10-11 on Betfair to double up at the Curragh on Sunday.
Tartan Bearer, who traded at 1-4 in running at Epsom when coming with his sweeping run on the outside, is 7-2 on the exchange to gain revenge.
Casual Conquest went off as 7-2 favourite at Epsom, but his 5 length third there sees him on offer at 15-2 for weekend glory, whilst Derby disappointment Curtain Call is 19-1 to redeem his reputation.
Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin observed: "New Approach is clearly a worthy favourite for the Irish Derby, but 10-11 seems a touch short in my book.
"Timeform only rate him 1lb clear of Tartan Bearer, and they effectively make this a two-horse race on their ratings, with that pair 11lb clear of the rest.
"As such, the 7-2 available about Tartan Bearer winning on Sunday will be tempting to some."
To win Irish Derby - Betfair bet: 10-11 New Approach, 7-2 Tartan Bearer, 15-2 Casual Conquest, 12-1 Alessandro Volta, 16-1 Washington Irving, 19-1 Curtain Call, 33-1 Doctor Fremantle, Centennial.
