It's a great Sunday with two pattern races in the UK complemented by a fantastic group one in France, the Prix Jacques le Marois.

We will kick off with the group one, a race that has been won by some top class horses down the years. Names like Dubawi, Manduro, Dubai Millennium and Polish Precedent grace the roll on honour at Deauville. This year Goldikova would make a fitting addition to those great names and I will be backing her, significantly to do so.

She was available at Evens on Friday and I can see her price being much shorter than that at the off. She is a wonderful filly who showed that she is back to her best by destroying a group one field last time out. She is a Breeders cup winner, a true champion who should win this and is the best bet of the day!

Henry Cecil has exploited Bouvardia's (3.40) handicap mark and now goes in search of black type with this well bred daughter of Oasis Dream. Tom Queally takes the ride, a man riding at the top of his confidence at the moment and though this is a step up in class for the three-year-old, I fully expect the hat-trick to be landed at Pontefract. Credit must go to Pontefract racecourse for putting on a race with over £45,000 in prize money.

Another fillies listed race is at Bath where Balaagha (4.30) will be hoping to take the honours after three consecutively seconds, including last time in a similar contest at Ascot, which looks form strong enough to win this. There is always a worry with a horse that finishes second regularly that they don't like going past but I think we will see that is not the case with Michael Jarvis' filly. If she runs like she did behind the well regarded Strawberrydaiquiri, then she should win.
