Timeform have selected two horses to avoid...
"He looks likely to find it tough to return to the winners’ enclosure in the coming months"
Reel Buddy Star has been in good form this season, notching up consecutive mile handicap wins at the end of June, and subsequently finishing runner-up at Ripon. He looks likely to find it tough to return to the winners' enclosure in the coming months, however, as his handicap mark has now reached a career high of 84 on account of the three aforementioned performances. Reel Buddy Star had everything in his favour when gaining his two wins this season, able to dominate small fields each time, with little pressure for the lead being applied by his rivals. The presence of other front-runners on his latest start, in a more competitive handicap at Thirsk, meant that he was unable to make the running, and he ended up a soundly beaten ninth. Reel Buddy Star looks to have nothing in hand off his current mark, and is one to avoid for the time being.
The sire One Cool Cat is developing a reputation for producing temperamental offspring, and four-year-old gelding Geneva Geyser, who earned the dreaded Timeform squiggle early in his career, is a case in point. Geneva Geyser's is a quirky individual, and often a very difficult ride, though, to his credit, he has responded well to forcing tactics on his last two starts, winning a Nottingham handicap by five lengths and finishing a close second at Windsor. There is every chance that his temperamental nature will resurface before long, however, and he remains one to be wary of.
