NFL Tipsheet: Mini previews and recommended bets for all Week 15 fixtures

Drew Brees can show us his good stuff in the final fixture of the week

With 11 wins and four losses last week, Luca Bercelli continues to bang out the winners. Find out where his money is going in week 15...

"If the Jets lose this one I'm going to pile up all my Green merchandise in the garden, stick an effigy of Rex Ryan on top, and set fire to the whole bloody lot."

Back the New York Jets to win @ 1.75/7 Best Bet

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Sunday 18:00

You have to be excited if you're a Browns' fan. QB Brian Hoyer has been dragging his arse all season, relying on his buddies to step up and manufacture wins. Now the flashing lights and the glitter ball are in town, and by that of course, I mean Johnny (Football) Manziel. He might be great, he might not; but the Browns aren't winning any rings this year so they might as well have some fun. I like his chances here; load up on the even money for the win.

Recommended Bet
Back the Cleveland Browns to win @ 2.01/1

Green Bay Packers @ Buffalo Bills
Sunday 18:00

This is a great match up. The Pack looked shaky last week but I'm taking them to bounce back here, even against an underrated and talented Bills outfit. Aaron Rodgers' MVP credentials will be put to the test, and I say he comes out with an A+. The handicap of 4.5pts is well within the Cheeseheads' compass.

Recommended Bet
Back the Green Bay Packers -4.5pts @ 2.021/1

Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts
Sunday 18:00

Talking of MVP candidates, here's another two right up there in the reckoning. The Texans' J.J. Watt seeks to become one of a rare breed, a defensive league MVP, whereas Andrew The Answer Luck takes the more traditional route. The two could get closer than Foggy and Jimmy in this one as Watt does what he does best - tries to rip a QB's face off. Indy running back Trent Richardson is obviously no threat to anyone and that'll play right into the big paws of Mr Watt. With no running game to worry about the target on Luck's head is all he'll be focused on. Take the Texans and the points.

Recommended Bet
Back The Houston Texans +6.5pts @ 2.0811/10

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Baltimore Ravens
Sunday 18:00

I hear the Jags are bringing out a Christmas lowlights dvd; that is if they can find one with enough capacity to fit them all on. Let's not kid ourselves, they've stunk this season. Plenty of experts reckon they're well coached and building the fundamentals for a bright future. All I see is losses, 11 of them. With jack to play for, (see what I did there) and the rampaging Ravens zeroed in on the post season, this is only going to end one way. I hate the handicap though, so take the overs.

Recommended Bet
Back over 44.5pts @ 1.991/1

Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots
Sunday 18:00

The Fins actually have a win against the Pats all the way back in week one, but since then you'd have to say that the former have been steady while the latter have been spectacular. In large part I put it down to Darrelle Revis locking down opposing star receivers; the game gets a lot easier without having to defend a deep threat. Tom Brady at the helm, a host of able running backs and a certain Mr Gronkowski all help, but Revis is the one I'd keep above all others. I can see both sides getting bogged down here.

Recommended Bet
Back under 48.5pts @ 1.991/1

Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions
Sunday 18:00

I think the Vikes are much better than their 6-7 record. They've really improved in the second half of the season and a big reason why is the growing confidence of QB Teddy Bridgewater. I've been raving about him for ages, nothing flashy, just gets the job done. His football brain will take him a long way, it's an asset Colin Kaepernick and RG III would die for. He'll need to be on top form against the Lions and their formidable defense. Plus seven, he should just about do it.

Recommended Bet
Back the Minnesota Vikings +7.0pts @ 2.111/10

Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs
Sunday 18:00

It was all looking so good for the Chiefs until they made a visit to the Black Hole on November 20. They got dumped 24-20 by the Raiders then, and haven't won a game since, although admittedly against strong opposition. The key factor for them now is the fitness of running back Jamaal Charles. If he's not fit I love the Raiders +10.5pts; if he is, I still like the Eye-Patch boys.

Recommended Bet
Back the Oakland Raiders +10.5pts @ 1.9520/21

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Atlanta Falcons
Sunday 18:00

This was a tough one before monster wide receiver Julio Jones was questionable for Atlanta. Now it's definitely team-sheet dependent; but I'll go with the Falcons in the hope that even if he doesn't play, White and some of the also-rans step up, and take advantage of a poor Steelers' defense and a what has been a very hit and miss season for them.

Recommended Bet
Back the Atlanta Falcons to win @ 2.226/5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
Sunday 18:00

Oh Carolina...wow what a storming 41-10 win against New Orleans last week. And we were on board with a ten point start. If only all bets panned out like that one! Unfortunately the Panthers' elation was short-lived as QB Can Newton had an argument with the sidewalk after being catapulted out of his pick-up truck earlier in the week. Derek Anderson takes over under centre and he should be good enough to steer Cam's team to a win over the hapless Bucs.

Recommended Bet
Back the Carolina Panthers to win @ 1.625/8

Washington Redskins @ New York Giants
Sunday 18:00

This should be the Odell Beckham Jr show, as the Giants' superstar-in-the-making wide receiver goes up against a poor Skins' secondary. I reckon he could break some records here, I really do, so keep an eye on the individual performance markets but above all, get stuck into the Giants -6.0pts.

Recommended Bet
Back the New York Giants -6.0pts @ 1.9720/21

Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
Sunday 21:05

Guess who went 14 of 20 for 173 yards with two interceptions last week? You've got it - P.Manning esquire. No shock to me, and a nice little earner on the side as the Broncs failed to cover the spread, landing us another plum. If Peyton throws for under 200 yards this week it'll be the first time he's done that for three games in a row in his entire career. Not only will he crack that milestone (or should that be millstone), but he'll also take first prize in the Mark Sanchez lookalike competition. Poor Peyton, no (L)imelight but another (W)in.

Recommended Bet
Back the Denver Broncos to win @ 1.538/15

New York Jets @ Tennessee Titans
Sunday 21:25

If the Jets lose this one I'm going to pile up all my Green merchandise in the garden, stick an effigy of Rex Ryan on top, and set fire to the whole bloody lot. Of course that's not going to happen, so my Vinnie Testaverde Bobblehead, among other rubbish, is safe for now. They'll take care of the Titans no problem, and Geno will show flashes of why he thinks he's a 'pro-bowl' calibre quarterback, (not even his mum agrees).

Recommended Bet
Back the New York Jets to win @ 1.75/7 Best Bet

San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks
Sunday 21:25

This is a mismatch in anybody's book: kind of like a thundering rocket smashing through a spluttering sparkler. The Hawks are peaking perfectly for a serious Superbowl run, whilst the Niners are heading for a new coach, deafening quarterback questions, and a winter of discontent. If the umpires let Seattle get away with their usual defensive nonsense at home, this could get ugly.

Recommended Bet
Back the Seattle Seahawks -10pts @ 2.186/5

Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles
Monday 01:30

LeSean McCoy could outshine the league's leading rusher, DeMarco Murray in this one. He looks set to take advantage of a dodgy Cowboys' defense just as he did two weeks ago when the Eagles won 33-10. Philly's D on the other hand is formidable, so there's only one thing that could spoil it for the Eagles and that's the good old Sanchize, who reverted to type last week with another one of his patented inept performances. Luckily for him his D and RB should get the job done.

Recommended bet
Back the Philadephia Eagles to win @ 1.635/8

New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears
Tuesday 01:30

Both of these outfits are in a right royal mess. In-fighting is killing the Bears whereas downright shocking play has hurt the Saints. Bizarrely, the Saints with the same 5-8 record as the Bears, still find themselves in the hunt for the post-season, and that should make all the difference here. It won't take long for the boos to get going if Chicago start slowly, and I'm banking on that to set the tone. Drew Brees is out to show that there's still some life left in the old dog, and I think he'll deliver.
