Teenage sensation Luke Littler is 4/15.00 to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year after he continued his incredible debut campaign as a professional by winning the Grand Slam of Darts.
The 17-year-old trailed qualifier Martin Lukeman 2-0 but then won an incredible 15 legs on the spin to lead 15-2. Lukeman broke the sequence before Littler broke Lukeman's throw in the 19th leg to win the Eric Bristow trophy.
It was the latest extraordinary chapter in a remarkable 12 month for Littler who has won 10 trophies this year.
He is the youngest ever player to reach the World Final and the youngest ever to win the Premier League and Grand Slam of Darts
His victory last night in Wolverhampton moves the 17-year-old up to fifth in the world rankings. The winner of SPOTY is announced on 15 December and the PDC World Darts Championship - for which Littler is the 2/13.00 favourite - starts the same day.
Hodgkinson 1/41.25 to add SPOTY to Olympic Gold
In any other year, the way Littler has blazed a trail through the world of darts would make him a likely SPOTY winner. He is making an impact far beyond darts cirlces and he is becoming a national star.
However, 2024 is an Olympic year and Keely Hodgkinson's stunning performances in Paris mean she is the favourite to take the award.
Hodgkinson is 1/41.25 after winning the gold medal in the 800 metres in the summer. Earlier in the year, she won gold at the at European Athletics Championships in Rome, retaining the title she won two years previously.
The 22-year-old has had a remarkable year and been at the top of the Betfair Sportsbook market on SPOTY ever since her victory in Paris.
Sir Mark Cavendish, meanwhile, is 14/1 to win SPOTY following his retirement from cycling last week.
The 39-year-old, who is the most successful sprinter in cycling history, this year broke the record for number of stage wins at the Tour de France.
The Olympic sailor Ben Ainslie 16/117.00, who last month was part of the team that became the first time to challenge for the America's Cup since 1964, is the only other contender at under 20/121.00.
