Timeform highlight three horses of interest at Warwick and Doncaster on Friday...

Warwick, 14:05 - Jour D'Evasion progressing and can land the hat-trick

The Henry Daly-trained Jour D'Evasion was a fairly useful hurdler but is already better over fences, progressing from his first attempt at Aintree when landing handicaps at Bangor (7 ran, by 4¼ lengths from Passing Kate) in November and Chepstow (5 ran, easily by 10 lengths from the same rival) in December.

The BHA handicapper has reacted with a 10 lb hike, but he's still clear top on Timeform's weight-adjusted-ratings with improvement still to come.

With all ground seemingly coming alike, he's fancied to track Excelero and strike where it matters once again.

Doncaster, 14:15 - Guard Duty to overcome jumping mistakes for in-form yard

Guard Duty's two placed efforts this season represent solid form, and, top on ratings, he's taken to provide in-form trainer Emma Lavelle - who has the Timeform 'Hot Trainer' flag at present - with a second successive win in this race.

Guard Duty wasn't suited by the way the race panned out last time and, with the ground to suit here, the handicapper's decision to leave him on the same mark could be punished as long as his jumping holds up (can make mistakes).

Indeed, Lavelle's winner of this race 12 months ago was Classic King, another talented sort who has had his own issues with getting from A to B.

Warwick, 15:47 - More patient ride the key for He Knows Better

'Horse In Focus' He Knows Better has made an encouraging start over fences and might well have won under a more efficient ride at Huntington last month.

The Jet Away gelding would have gone close but for a late fall in a 2½m handicap at Haydock won by Hitthehayson in December, then paid for a big move into contention when 4¾ lengths second of 12 to Impatient in a similar event at Huntingdon later in the month.

He seemed to improve for the longer trip there and remains open to improvement (has the Timeform 'small p' attached to his rating and is top on ratings); he gets the nod over course winner Kalista Love.
