Shock felt around Flutter as Betfair legend Neil Hubbard decides to switch silks...
Horse racing legend Neil Hubbard is due to make his final outing at Betfair on
Thursday May 26, before moving on to pursue a new career under the
Retraining of Betfair Staff scheme run by RMG.
Making his Betfair debut back in 2014 in the CRM Marketing Manager Handicap, Hubbard was quick to turn heads. Catching Tony Calvin's eye as a 50-1 shot, he was tipped up as one to watch for the future and did not disappoint.
Charging to the front with a spectacular turn of foot, Calvin fans were gleefully thanking the tipster and his masterful eye for an outsider.
Entries were straight into the Group 3 Commercial Manager Stakes in 2015. He battled off competitors to stay strong and finish up front continuing his so far unbeaten record, not just once but three times, triumphing again in 2016 and 2017.
When Halifax called for Hubbard
When a change in Ownership took place, Hubbard moved yards to the Yorkshire-based stable, Timeform. Although the stay was short lived, in the 18 month period his Timeform Rating continued to push up, reaching heights of 128.

Delivering for De Nardo
Returning to Betfair, under Trainer Will De Nardo, it was noted this horse had
more to give. An athlete holding the unique traits of both speed and stamina, it was time to step him up in trip. The Betfair stable took the chance to increase his distance and enter him into the Group 1 Senior Commercial Manager Stakes.
Putting in a jaw-dropping performance, Hubbard led all the way, through the
undulating strategies and commercial developments to finish at Betfair on a
career high.
Delivering countless campaigns, new initiatives and sharing his outstanding racing knowledge, it is with a heavy heart that we announce Hubbard's departure from the Betfair stable.
From all at Betfair, we wish Hubbard all the best in his future endeavours and
hope to see him back on the track very soon.
