Lingfield, 15.05 - Back Sanditon @ 7/42.75
Naval Ensign and Sanditon renew rivalry four days on from the former's narrow course and distance success, but I wonder if there may be a different outcome in round two.
Whereas Naval Ensign enjoyed the perfect Lingfield charge for the line down the middle of the track, sweeping wide and late to collar Toussarok and the selection in the shadows of the post, Sanditon spent much of the last furlong fighting to hold a position between rivals.
The use of headgear has clearly sharpened up Charlie Johnston's gelding who has put down solid back-to-back performances at the Surrey venue and he could gain some reward for his consistency in this event.

Lingfield, 15.35 - Back Woodhay Whisper @ 15/44.75
Woodhay Whisper is yet to win in five starts at Lingfield, but she could enjoy the joy of six by finally getting over the line in front in this finale.
The daughter of Coulsty may be limited in her ability - she has yet to win above Class 6 level - however she is extremely consistent over six furlongs, recording figures over today's trip of 623124212243.
She was a shade unfortunate not to add a 1 to that row of figures as she was hampered and short of room at a crucial time on New Year's Eve when third to Lazzar in a course and distance handicap.
Hopefully, she gains a clearer passage in this winnable event and the decision to put the hood back on last time produced a career best performance on the figures so she ought to be on the scene once more.
