Hamilton, 15.25 - Salam Dubawi @ 3/14.00

Salam Dubawi makes a swift return to action following a fine effort in the John Smith's Cup at York on Saturday and that could prove a smart move by connections.

The four-year-old drops in trip to contest this affair, but that may be no bad thing as he can be ridden aggressively and there is an opportunity for him to dominate his field.

Jim Goldie's gelding was sent off an 80/1 chance to lift one of the fiercely contested handicaps of the season, yet produced a near career best to finish with three lengths of the unexposed and upwardly mobile winner Raammee.

Returned to a track where he won decisely at a big price back in May, Salam Dubawi could be tough to resist here.

Thirsk, 16.45 - Harswell Ruby @ 13/82.63

Harswell Ruby deserves a change of luck following a series of commendable efforts and her fortunes may change in this finale.

Admittedly an infrequent winner, the daughter of Far Above is at home in Class 5 mile handicaps and, although beaten rather too regularly for the liking of connections, both of her career wins have been achieved at this level and she has also obliged following a nine-day break from the track.

Her latest run at Pontefract was another sound effort and she has an obvious chance competing back at a venue where her form figures read 314.

Epsom, 18.55 - Back Hello Cotai @ 4/15.00

Local handler Jim Boyle returns to Jack Mitchell to partner Hello Cotai and that could prove a smart move given the duo teamed up to win well at Windsor last month.

The son of Cotai Glory was raised 4lb for that one length defeat of Galaxy Wonder down by the Thames and he didn't acquit himself at all badly when beaten half a length over this course and distance at the beginning of the month.

That performance took his Epsom stats to 21163 and the figures devotees rated it the third best of his career, perhaps unsurprisingly behind his two course wins when trained by Adam West.

The handicapper left him alone for his narrow reverse last time and he could exploit that generosity here.
