Ripon, 16.25 - Back Jesmond Dawn @ SP
If there is one accusation to be levelled at Jesmond Dawn in his 36-race career it is that he rarely backs up a strong performance with another on his next start.
Given we are talking about a low-grade handicapper that could be a harsh critique and, for the purpose of balance, connections of the five-year-old would suggests he rarely returns to his favoured venue as he bids to reprise a prominent showing.
That can't be said today as Jesmond Dawn returns to Ripon to try and replicate an excellent display 12 days where he overcame a wide draw and an imperfect passage yet still managed to record a second course win.
The son of Dawn Approach has recorded his best four course efforts at the Garden Racecourse and, although he has been nudged up 5lb for that success, he is taken to continue trainer Grant Tuer's fine recent run of form.

Curragh, 16.35 - Back Thundering On @ 2/13.00
There were valid excuses for the eclipse of Thundering On in the Paddy Power Pretty Polly Stakes last time and the daughter of Frankel may well bounce back to form now she tackles her own age group once more.
An impressive winner of the Oaks at Epsom with some give underfoot, the first foal of Pretty Polly winner Thundering Nights was found to be coughing following her reverse at today's venue three weeks ago so to be beaten just two lengths on the fastest ground she has encountered was still a courageous effort.
Hopefully, that race hasn't left a mark, but Joseph O'Brien is a master trainer so no chances would have been taken with her preparation.
The sight of the selection sauntering through the Oaks at Epsom before quickening past the useful Legacy Link was impressive and O'Brien has a couple of other live chances in Ribblesdale runner-up Johanna Walsh and the unbeaten Rebel Moon (clocked a swift time at Naas in Group 3 company last time) to supplement the selection's chance.
However, if Thundering On brings her 'A game' her turn of foot could be tough to resist now that she returns to a mile and a half.

Newmarket, 17.25 - Back Silca Bay @ SP
Silca Bay couldn't hail from a yard in better form and the son of Cable Bay could gain compensation for a luckless run at Sandown last time.
Oliver Carmichael has struck up a good synergy with the selection, winning on the four-year-old at Kempton and Goodwood prior to partnering Silca Bay at the Esher venue where he was stuck for a clear passage at a crucial point of that Class 4 event won by Cristo.
Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton has saddled eight winners in the last fortnight and this race represents another gilt-edged opportunity for more success.
