Newbury, 13:55 - Back Midak E/W @ 30/131.00

Outsider of the field Midak could be able to outrun his odds in the opening Listed mile-and-a-quarter race at Newbury on Saturday.

A €300,000 purchase last autumn from the Aga Khan Studs, the son of Footstepsinthesand is yet to show the best of his ability in the colours of Mrs Fitri Hay for Ian Williams, but was far from disgraced when a three-length fourth to Tenability at Goodwood and could build on that outing.

Formerly trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, the four-year-old shaped with promise during his debut campaign last term, winning his first three races culminating in a Group Three Saint-Cloud success before being sent off at odds of 9/110.00 in the Derby at Epsom won by Lambourn. He was gelded subsequently and finished fourth to Nitoi in a Chantilly Listed contest on his return from a break before switching yards.

His first two runs for his current trainer were during his time abroad, including in a Meydan Group One won by Opera Ballo. His latest run was his first in the UK for his current trainer on the back of a 112-day break, and he ran well for a long way before failing to sustain his challenge late on. He could take a step forward and fare better this time around, making him one to note at generous odds if able to show a resurgence back down in trip.

Market Rasen, 14:10 - Back Pigeon House E/W @ 33/134.00

Charles and Adam Pogson-trained Pigeon House returned to form in his latest start over course-and-distance when narrowly denied by Ip Up. He's on an unchanged mark of 120 here and could be capable of outrunning his odds under Lee Edwards.

The six-year-old is 6lb lower than his previous winning handicap mark when trained by Jessica Harrington. He was a useful performer during his time in Ireland, often putting in competitive efforts in big-field handicaps, and could be capable of rediscovering form following a promising run.

Market Rasen, 14:45 - Back Mahons Glory E/W @ 9/110.00

In the Summer Plate at Market Rasen, ten-year-old gelding Mahons Glory could defy top weight for Dylan Cunha. He's a likeable performer who won over course-and-distance from a 4lb lower mark recently, and should put in a bold bid under Lee Edwards.

The son of Fame And Glory has been fantastic for his current trainer over the past year and a half, winning both of his first two runs for his trainer since leaving the Patrick Nevill operation, before placing on multiple occasions and making the frame in tough races, including when fourth in the Sefton and sixth in the Topham.

Whilst he has to prove himself from a higher rating, he could be capable of doing so as he has plenty of heart and a tenacious attitude. If getting into a good rhythm, Mahons Glory will be tough to pass and has course form in his favour.

The Curragh, 14:50 - Back Go Athletico E/W @ 11/112.00

Go Athletico won this race twelve months ago from a 5lb higher mark when beating Fort Vega by half-a-length, and could be capable of a bold bid in his attempt at retaining his crown for Ado McGuinness.

The eight-year-old has put in a couple of respectable efforts since then, including when third to Keke at Naas in April, and returned to form when second at odds of 10/111.00 here when last seen.

With proven form in the race, the experienced eight-year-old makes appeal under Nathan Crosse and may be worth keeping onside.

The Curragh, 14:50 - Back Red Evolution E/W @ 11/112.00

Currently 1lb lower than his last winning mark, Red Evolution is one to note for Michael O'Callaghan under Jamie Powell.

The four-year-old chestnut could still be capable of showing further improvement in handicaps, still relatively unexposed, and may come on for his latest run here following a 107-day break. He has shown good form in the past and won from a higher rating previously, therefore should be able to make his presence felt with a favourable trip.

Bet of the day: Newbury, 15:02 - Back Jasour @ 8/19.00

Clive Cox-trained Jasour has struggled to threaten for the major honours following a promising return to action in Listed company at Doncaster earlier in the season when a length second to Aramram. His latest run in the hugely competitive Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes is worth forgiving, however, as he lost any chance with his keenness early on that day.

Capable of better and back in calmer waters here, this could be a feasible opportunity for the five-year-old grey to return to some form and be competitive. He's more than capable of making his presence felt in this field on a going day, having shown form in deeper waters previously, and could put in a bold bid under P J McDonald, representing value at the prices.

The Curragh, 15:25 - Back Kendall Roy E/W @ 25/126.00

Kate McGivern-trained Kendall Roy impressed on his return to action last month to win a Listed Cork contest at odds of 28/129.00. He beat runner-up Likedbymike, who had previously finished second to Mission Central, beaten only three-quarters-of-a-length by the subsequent Group One winner in a Listed Naas event.

There's substance to his form and Kendall Roy is entitled to come on for his first run in 115 days following a spell in Bahrain where he beat Roman Dragon to handicap success over the winter.

The five-year-old could still be capable of showing further progression and remains unexposed in Stakes company. This requires a further step up but he could put in a competitive effort under Chris Hayes and shouldn't be discounted each-way.

Newmarket, 16:17 - Back Dashing Dick E/W @ 17/29.50

Course-and-distance winner Dashing Dick has plenty of valuable experience at this track in his favour as he bids for a sixth career success in his 64th outing. He returned to form here in his penultimate start when a close third at odds of 11/112.00 for William Stone, and was far from disgraced in sixth when last seen.

The experienced eight-year-old is currently 2lb below his last winning mark and makes appeal at the weights having been competitive from a 5lb higher rating at this track last summer.

The Curragh, 16:35 - Back Amelia Earhart @ 5/16.00

In the Irish Oaks, Amelia Earhart could give a better account of herself than in the Epsom equivalent, equipped with first-time cheekpieces as she bids to return to winning ways. The addition of a hood as well as blinkers saw her perform to great effect in the Cheshire Oakas on reappearance in May, and this new headgear could spark improvement.

This is a different challenge for the Camelot filly who clearly possesses ability and she could get back on track under Ryan Moore for Aidan O'Brien at the Curragh. She remains an exciting filly and may be worth keeping the faith in as she bids for Classic glory.

Cartmel, 17:30 - Back Got Grey @ 13/27.50

Seven-year-old gelding Got Grey is currently 3lb below his last winning mark with 7lb claimer Leah Noreci in the plate, bidding to return to form following a disappointing recent outing in a higher class contender over course-and-distance.

In his penultimate start, the James Moffatt-trained contender had put in a creditable effort on yard debut having left the Dan Skelton stable, beaten only four-and-a-half-lengths over an extended 2m1f trip despite finishing third of three. He's capable of better than shown when last seen and should be suited by conditions at the track, with recent course experience in his favour.

Capable of winning a race of this nature on a going day, Got Grey is one to note and could return to form in his 35th appearance to make it third time lucky for his local trainer.

Doncaster, 18:45 - Back Perfect Part E/W @ 11/112.00

Four-year-old filly Perfect Part is yet to add to her shock debut success at odds of 125/1126.00 but has put in a number of competitive efforts, including in Stakes company, and finished a good fourth over a mile here on reappearance in March.

In her previous outing at the track, on her return following a 168-day break, the Mehmas filly put in a creditable effort to make the frame at 50/151.00 in a 22-runner competitive handicap. She has since performed well twice at Thirsk and could return to form following a disappointing effort in the Kensington Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

Trained by Brian Ellison, Perfect Part is on a workable mark off a rating of 85 and could make her presence felt in this field under Ben Robinson.
