Royal Ascot Saturday Tips: Saber to Strike in Timeform's three to follow on Day 5

This looks a good Jersey, but the suggestion is a colt trained by William Haggas ('Hot Trainer' flag) who won this race in 2008 with Aqlaam, and has enjoyed a good week in Berkshire. 

Saber Strike created a really good impression when winning a Newmarket listed race over this trip on his second start, beating some highly-regarded individuals with a strong performance on the clock in the closing stages, and had this race immediately nominated as a target. 

This imposing individual gets the vote to continue his progression at the main expense of 1000 Guineas fourth The Prettiest Star for last year's winning stable; she's another 'Horses In Focus' along with 2000 Guineas fourth Into The Sky. In case he finds one of those too good, he is our Betfair Second Chance Token selection on Saturday.

Wokingham Stakes 17:00, Royal Ascot -Course will suit Carlisle winner Realign

This is a smashing renewal of the Wokingham with any number holding chances, but Realign had clearly come on plenty for his reappearance and made his class tell when scoring in good style at Carlisle three weeks ago and rates a big player again under a 5lb-penalty.  

Another trained by Haggas, Realign looked one to follow when scoring with plenty in hand last month, where he was especially strong in the closing stages. 

Though a beaten favourite over five furlongs at this meeting last term, he didn't run badly, and his performance over the stiff finish at Carlisle suggests that this race could work out perfectly (as long as a low-ish draw doesn't scupper his chance) 

His stablemate Binhareer is feared on the back of an excellent York second, with Double Rush another of definite interest having made it 2-2 for Andrew Balding at Newmarket in May.

Golden Gate Stakes 17:35, Royal Ascot - Sahara King to turn the tables on Lost Boys

Wathnan Racing purchased Sahara King and Lost Boys after they finished 1-2 in last month's London Gold Cup and that pair - who top Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings - might fight out the finish to another top handicap.  

The former was narrowly denied by a head at Newbury but is seemingly preferred by James Doyle and is taken to turn the tables in new cheekpieces.  

There are three 'Horses In Focus' in the field, with Windsor runner-up Heraldry the other, but Sahara King is 1 lb better off with Lost Boys, and his earlier form with subsequent Derby runner-up Maltese Cross suggests that he remains well-treated off this mark.

Timeform's Day 5 Royal Ascot double 

Betfair is offering Bet £10 Get £10 on Multis, and the multi that makes the most appeal is a win double consisting of Saber Strike and Realign. 

The imposing Saber Strike impressed with his finishing effort at HQ, while Realign was equally strong at the line when winning well up at Carlisle last time out.
