Catterick, 13:17 - Back Alsakib @ 9/52.80

Six-year-old gelding Alsakib made a promising start over obstacles when second to Minstrel Knight at Wetherby last month. He stayed on well behind Minstrel Knight when sent off as 2/13.00 joint-favourite and is entitled to improve for his hurdling debut.

The step up to an extended 2m3f should suit based on that effort, and, bringing plenty of Flat class into the race, the son of Kingman should be capable of shedding his maiden tag soon enough in a contest such as this.

Alsakib featured at Group One level when trained by Andrew Balding on the Flat, recording five wins for his former yard including a Group Three success at York over Al Qareem. He was beaten only a length-and-a-half by multiple Group One winning globetrotter Rebel's Romance, rated 122, in the Yorkshire Cup last spring, having previously finished fourth in the Copper Horse Stakes at Royal Ascot the season prior.

A strong stayer and formidable opponent on his day in the Flat sphere, there should be plenty more to come from Alsakib over obstacles and he has already shaped with promise in his sole start over hurdles.

Under in-form rider Brian Hughes for the Donald McCain yard, the grey gelding is one to keep onside and could be an exciting prospect for his new connections having been purchased for 100,000gns last autumn.

Catterick, 14:20 - Back Hey Buddy E/W @ 12/113.00

Making his first appearance following wind surgery on his handicap debut from an opening mark of 102, Hey Buddy is an interesting contender for the Fergal O'Brien team in the hands of in-form Johnny Burke.

The six-year-old gelding hasn't made a significant impression in any of his five starts to date, including in a couple of bumpers, but has shaped with some promise on occasion. He finished second to Jentobello in his second start in a Kelso bumper last year, and placed third to Race To Base at odds of 14/115.00 in a Hereford novice event in November.

His dam, Assistance, a Vadamos mare, is out of Group Two winner Moon Search, a half-sister to multiple black-type achievers including the talented Sea The Moon. There's also a number of successful jumpers in the family, too, including five-time winner Minella Rocco, who once placed in the Cheltenham Gold Cup won by Sizing John.

There could be plenty of further progression to come from Hey Buddy, who appears to be learning with experience. He may find more luck in the handicap sphere and could prove better than his opening mark suggests.

Lingfield, 16:08 - Back Noble Victory @ 11/26.50

Rossa Ryan, who has an all-time strike-rate of 30 percent on an all-weather surface for James Tate, recorded a 35 percent win-rate for the yard during 2025 and was highly effective at Lingfield, too. He partners Noble Victory for the first time in this 7f contest, and the pair could be tough to beat.

The four-year-old colt returned from a 58-day break with a third-placed effort at Chelmsford in October when rated 1lb higher. From a mark of 78 here, the son of Churchill should be able to pose a threat having shaped with promise previously.

Lightly raced making only his tenth start, Noble Victory, who landed his maiden success last February, finished third to Hammer The Hammer in a competitive 13-runner Southwell handicap last sprint. The winner is now rated 21lb higher on a mark of 102 following multiple creditable efforts in tough handicaps plus two wins, whilst the second has also franked the form.

Noble Victory has gone close since, only narrowly denied by Invited over this course-and-distance in August. He's rated 1lb higher here, but remains open to some further improvement and this could be a feasible opportunity for him to finally strike in handicap company and add to his sole career success to date.

There's substance to some of his form and he has been running consistently well of late, making the frame in each of his latest three outings.

Kempton, 17:30 - Back Mr Cool E/W @ 10/111.00

Equipped with first-time cheekpieces, top weight Mr Cool makes appeal for Charlie Johnston and Neil Callan in this 6f sprint at the Sunbury-on-Thames venue.

The four-year-old is 2lb lower than his latest success when beating Ziggy's Ariel at Ripon in June, and has been able to make his presence felt from a 5lb higher mark since that victory, when second to Coul Angel in a higher class handicap over this course-and-distance in October.

He has run well at Kempton in the past, although wasn't seen to best effect in his latest appearance here, and has the ability to bounce back from a few below par efforts now dropping in class from a lower mark.

Making appeal at the weights, with the addition of headgear potentially sparking some improvement, Mr Cool could reward the faith and shouldn't be discounted in search of a third win in his 20th run.
