Horse Racing tipster Katie Midwinter has four selections at Bangor-on-Dee and Ayr on the Betfair Sportsbook this Wednesday...

  • Katie Midwinter has selections at Bangor-on-Dee and Ayr

  • Talented mare can land Listed success on chasing debut

  • Course specialist is one to note in familiar surroundings

Bangor-on-Dee, 13:00 - Back Theformismighty E/W @ 15/28.50

Dan Skelton-trained Theformismighty hasn't been able to make any impression in recent outings, but has dropped 10lb since finishing third to Masaccio in a higher class contest in April, and is now back on his last winning mark of 118 when a convincing 10-length winner last winter.

The eight-year-old gelding makes his tenth start over fences under Rules here, bidding for a second success as a chaser. The point winner improved for his return to action last season, and, in his third start following a break, could be able to be more competitive and take a step forward from his previous recent appearances.

In February, Theformismighty was only narrowly denied by New Order in a Wetherby contest. He's 18lb better off with that rival this time around as he bids to reverse the form, and, from a workable mark with the cheekpieces removed, he may bounce back to form.

Bangor-on-Dee, 13:30 - Back Diva Luna @ 9/52.80

Making her chasing debut on her seasonal reappearance, Diva Luna makes the most appeal for an in-form Ben Pauling yard in this Listed Mares' Novices' Chase.

The six-year-old mare has shown great form in bumpers and over hurdles during her career so far, winning a Listed Market Rasen bumper on Rules debut before doubling up in a Grade Two Aintree bumper, beating subsequent dual Listed winner Jubilee Alpha, now a 137-rated hurdler, a Listed winner in Baby Kate, and now 129-rated Honky Tonk Highway, who had previously beaten her in a point-to-point.

In that point, Diva Luna was denied three-lengths by the winner, but finished 25-lengths ahead of Bluey, who recently made a winning start as a chaser, achieving a rating of 129 in the process.

Following a maiden hurdle win at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, Diva Luna was able to finish a creditable third in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Festival, finishing ahead of a number of talented rivals to place at odds of 12/113.00

Although she was unable to make an impression when upped to Grade One company at Aintree, she remains an exciting prospect and could be able to achieve further success over the larger obstacles.

With noteworthy point form in her favour, and having already proven her credentials against classy opponents in Graded races, Diva Luna holds leading claims at this level and could prove tough to beat should she take well to this new challenge.

Ayr, 13:45 - Back I'm For Home E/W @ 9/110.00

Seven-year-old gelding I'm For Home is an interesting runner for RK Watson in this extended 2m3f handicap hurdle. From a rating of 84, 7lb above his Irish mark, the son of Altruistic could pose a threat.

While he's yet to win in 20 starts, including in 16 runs over hurdles, I'm For Home has been able to shape with some potential on occasion, making the frame at Downpatrick earlier this year, and running with credit at Sligo when last seen.

He has coped with softer conditions in the past, putting in a respectable effort in heavy ground at Punchestown in February, having achieved his best finishing position to date when second in a 2m3f heavy ground Limerick event the previous winter.

Although I'm For Home has failed to pass the post in front during his races to date, he warrants each-way consideration and this different challenge could allow him to put in a more competitive bid. This could be his time to strike and return home with a winning prize under 5lb claiming Shane Fenelon.

Bangor-on-Dee, 14:00 - Back Pull Again Green E/W @ 11/112.00

With form figures of 122 at the track, Pull Again Green is one to note for Fergal O'Brien and has a couple of recent runs in his favour, too. He won over this course-and-distance in convincing fashion as a novice chaser, before finishing second to the sadly ill-fated Celebre d'Allen in this contest last year when rated 1lb higher.

In his penultimate start, his first run for 61 days, Pull Again Green finished second to now 137-rated chaser Art Of Diplomacy here, before failing to make an impression in good to firm ground at Chepstow.

His latest run could be worth forgiving considering he had been in great form during the summer, winning twice including a victory over subsequent winner Nickelforce at Market Rasen.

From a workable mark, with proven form at the track and having run well in the race twelve months ago, Pull Again Green can pose a threat under Liam Harrison, and put in his usual creditable effort at this venue.
