Down Royal, 14:20 - Back Boston Bobby E/W @ 9/110.00

Up 7lb for his maiden win when last seen, Boston Bobby could be worth keeping onside. He fought on well to prevail over Sunwalk in his previous run, with the front pair pulling clear of the rest of the field.

Having shown a good attitude to get off the mark over hurdles at the 12th time of asking, the penny may have dropped with Boston Bobby who had been competitive previously from a mark of 81 when half-a-length second to Verbal Sparring at Sligo when sent off at odds of 66/167.00

Boston Bobby was no stranger to outrunning his odds when winning at 16/117.00 recently, and could double up on the back of that victory, capable of showing further improvement having finally finished with his head in front.

The course-and-distance winner makes appeal once again back at the same venue as his sole career success in the hands of 3lb claimer Tiernan Power Roche.

Newcastle, 14:43 - Back Silky Wilkie @ 7/24.50

Karl Burke-trained Silky Wilkie performed with credit when finishing third as a well supported 9/43.25 favourite at Lingfield in his latest start earlier this month. He was beaten only a length-and-three-quarters under 5lb claiming Jack Nicholls that day, perhaps slightly needing the run following a 95-day break.

The experienced performer, who makes his 60th career start in this 6f sprint, has been dropped 1lb to a mark of 80 from which he should be competitive. He's upped in class therefore must show some further improvement, but has the ability to pose a threat on a going day from a workable mark.

In the past, the son of Mehmas has been rated as highly as 110, performing in Stakes company against tough opposition, including featuring in racs won by the likes of Highfield Princess and Annaf.

More recently, he has been able to be competitive in higher class handicaps from a higher rating, including when denied at Lingfield by Ferrous from a mark of 90 last February, and when third at York in a 14-runner handicap from a rating of 86 in September.

It could prove worth keeping the faith in Silky Wilkie, who is one to note as he seeks a seventh career win.

Leicester, 15:32 - Back Mixedwave E/W @ 10/111.00

Course-and-distance winner Mixedwave is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark when successful at Wetherby last March, and could be able to return to the winners' enclosure in familiar surroundings from a rating of 96.

The Pam Sly-trained contender didn't fire at Huntingdon when last seen, but is dropping back down in class here, capable of performing better. Whilst he has lacked consistency in recent runs, the nine-year-old is on a mark from which he can be competitive and is proven at the course over the trip.

A five-time winner, Mixedwave has been able to strike from a higher rating in the past at this level, and could be worth sticking with in the hands of Paul O'Brien, who has partnered him to victory in the past.

Southwell, 17:30 - Back Amazonian Dream E/W @ 9/110.00

Course-and-distance winner Amazonian Dream is now rated 13lb lower than his previous success when victorious at Kempton last winter. He has been able to put in some competitive efforts since, including when beaten only two-lengths when rated 91 at Chelmsford, and, on the back of a recent return to action, could be ready to strike.

Following a 131-day break, the experienced seven-year-old made his 50th racecourse appearance on New Year's Day, finishing three-lengths behind winner Bell Shot when 16/117.00 over this course-and-distance. He's entitled to improve for that respectable return to action and, from a 2lb lower mark, makes plenty of appeal.

Representing trainer Rod Millman, who has landed two winners from his last four runners, Amazonian Dream has plenty in his favour under Lewis Edmunds in this contest, and is an attractive proposition at a price of 9/110.00.
