Lingfield, 13:00 - Back Capote's Dream E/W @ 20/121.00
Top weight Capote's Dream drops in class on his return to action following a 186-day break, making him one to note in this 6f handicap under 3lb claiming Alec Voikhansky.
The Tom Ward-trained contender has run well when fresh in the past, finishing a decent fourth on his return to action earlier this year, having finished second on reappearance the year before when rated 10lb higher. He has won on the back of a break previously, too, and, from a workable mark of 70, can make his presence felt.
The experienced eight-year-old is winless since the summer of 2023, when rated 7lb higher at Windsor, but has put in many competitive efforts since including in higher class company from a rating above 80.
Earlier this year, he finished fourth in both of his first two starts of the season, unable to land a major blow but far from disgraced, and, from a lower rating, can fare better. He was only narrowly denied twice when rated 69 and 71 respectively, in his two final starts last year.
Making appeal at the weights with winning form on an all-weather surface, Capote's Dream warrants consideration at odds of 20/121.00.

Lingfield, 15:20 - Back Onlyriversrunfree E/W @ 33/134.00
Four-year-old filly Onlyriversrunfree is an interesting contender in this mile handicap, in only her second start in handicap company from a 2lb lower rating than her latest effort at Chepstow in June. She couldn't make any impression that day, well beaten by eventual winner Beaming Light, but remains unexposed and capable of better in only her fifth career start.
The daughter of Cracksman is out of Invincible Spirit mare Handmaiden, who placed in six contests, a half-sister to Listed-placed Zarabanda, out of Listed-placed Zabeel Park, half-sister to Irish 1000 Guineas winner Finsceal Beo, and German 2000 Guineas winner Frozen Power. There's plenty of black-type in her pedigree and there could be further improvement to come from her.
The return to an all-weather may suit considering she has more experience on an artificial surface, and, although she was sent off at odds of 150/1151.00, 300/1301.00, and 250/1251.00 respectively in her first three starts, she shaped with some potential on occasion and it's too early to give up on her.
One to watch, Onlyriversrunfree warrants a second glance at a price of 33/134.00, and may be able to spring a surprise if ready from a break and on a going day. She makes each-way appeal with four places available.

Wolverhampton, 17:00 - Back Eagle Day E/W @ 20/121.00
Course-and-distance winner Eagle Day appears well treated at the weights from a rating of 71, now 9lb lower than his previous success here last December.
The gelding was able to put a couple of below par efforts behind him to record successive wins here during December last year, initially from a rating of 75 before doubling up following a 5lb rise.
On the back of a disappointing run once again, it could be a case of déjà vu for the son of Kodiac, who has plenty of all-weather experience, particularly at this venue, including multiple wins.
Trained by David Evans, the five-year-old has been able to make his presence felt by posing a threat in higher class company previously, including in his first start of the year when a creditable fourth to Apiarist, now rated 96, when on a 13lb higher mark at Chelmsford. He chased home Smart Hero here in February from the same rating of 84, before being beaten only a length by Mr Baloo from 1lb lower in March.
In familiar surroundings, Eagle Day shouldn't be discounted at a price of 20/121.00, capable of springing a surprise and making the frame at the least under Dylan Hogan.

Wolverhampton, 17:30 - Back No Retreat E/W @ 20/121.00
On his return to action following a 159-day break and wind surgery, likeable gelding No Retreat shouldn't be discounted for George Scott, possessing the ability to put in a bold bid on a going day in this handicap.
The son of Siyouni was in great form earlier this year in warmer climes, achieving form figures of 2212 for Fawzi Abdulla Naas. He was beaten only a length by Folk Festival in his first run of the year at Abu Dhabi, before running three times in Meydan, winning once from a 10lb lower rating before being narrowly denied by Silver Sword.
Usually seen flashing home in a quick finish, No Retreat possesses plenty of speed. He has been consistent throughout his career bar his latest disappointing effort in the competitive Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing among the places in three starts for Roger Varian at the beginning of his career. In his penultimate start, the four-year-old finished third at Haydock from his current mark of 97, proving he can be competitive off this rating.
At odds of 20/121.00 under Darragh Keenan, who has won both of his previous two rides at the time of writing, No Retreat makes each-way appeal.
