The Coffee Pod shaped with promise in his latest run at Salisbury when beaten only two-and-three-quarter-lengths, having failed to get the run of the race, staying on well in the finish. It was an improved effort on his previous runs for the WIlliam Muir and Chris Grassick yard since leaving the Richard Hannon stable, and he could build on the outing from a 2lb lower mark.
The five-year-old gelding is now 13lb lower than his last winning mark when successful at York over two years ago. Although it's a long time since he was last seen in the winners' enclosure, he has put in a number of competitive efforts since then from a higher mark and, from a lenient rating currently, could be capable of recording a third career success.

Lingfield, 17:18 - Back Majestic Wave E/W @ 6/17.00
Four-year-old gelding Majestic Wave was a promising youngster for former trainer John O'Donoghue when trained in Ireland as a juvenile, finishing second to Diego Ventura in a Naas maiden before getting off the mark at Navan, given an opening mark of 89.
He finished fourth on handicap and stable debut for Simon Dow in his first outing as a three-year-old last year from that rating, but struggled to build on the promising reappearance and was subsequently gelded.
Although he's yet to get off the mark for his current yard, the son of Sergei Prokofiev has slipped to a low mark of 62 from which he put in an improved performance over this course-and-distance last month, finishing second to Dannick.
In the hands of 7lb claiming James Glennon here, in familiar surroundings, Majestic Wave can pose a threat, with plenty of course form in his favour and having shown ability at a higher level in deeper waters previously.

Lingfield, 18:48 - Back Balon d'Or E/W @ 11/112.00
Likeable Kodiac gelding Balon d'Or was only beaten a length at odds of 18/119.00 in his penultimate start over 5f here, before failing to give his true running at Epsom when last seen. He could pick up where he left off on his all-weather return, now rated 3lb lower than in his previous trip to this venue and currently 5lb below his last winning mark.
The five-year-old gelding is yet to strike for Simon Dow, but performed well from a much higher mark for former trainer Hugo Palmer in the past and should be capable of winning from his current mark. He should make his presence felt if on a going day in this field under Paddy Bradley, and warrants each-way consideration.
