Karl Burke and Clifford Lee enjoyed a fine weekend with black-type successes, and could land another top prize with Shayem in this renewal of the German 2,000 Guineas. The son of King Of Change has been disappointing so far this season following an unsuccessful appearance on the dirt in Riyadh, but it could be worth keeping the faith in a horse who shaped with promise as a juvenile.
During his debut campaign, he was able to finish a decent third to Bow Echo in Listed company at Haydock, the form of which has been franked on multiple occasions, before claiming Listed honours of his own at Pontefract. There's substance to the form and there could be more to come from him for an in-form yard.

Robert Cowell-trained Uncle Don holds each-way claims under 3lb claiming Jack Callan in this 6f sprint. He put in a competitive effort on yard debut in his first run of the campaign when narrowly denied by Dark Ace at Lingfield in April, but couldn't build on that effort at Goodwood.
The four-year-old could be worth keeping onside as he's on a workable mark of 86, having been able to pose a threat from a similar rating and higher in the past. He's winless since a maiden victory in his second start in 2024, but has put in many eye-catching efforts since, placing at Listed level as well as making the frame in big field handicaps, and this could be his time to strike again.

Top weight Flying Frontier is one to consider in this competitive handicap for James Tate under Connor Beasley. He's 1lb lower than his latest win and should take a step forward from his return to action at Pontefract last month when back from a 234-day absence.
The six-year-old remains largely unexposed in only his 14th start, lightly raced but having shown to possess plenty of ability on his day. He was able to put in a string of competitive efforts earlier in his career, running consistently well, and could get back on track in this race.
On a workable mark, the son of Farhh shouldn't be discounted and makes each-way appeal as he bids for a fifth win.

Willie Mullins-trained Daddy Long Legs should prove tough to beat under Paul Townend in the opening race at Ballinrobe. He wasn't seen to best effect at Southwell behind Constitution Hill in his second Flat appearance earlier this year, but a return to hurdling should allow him to fare better and he has plenty of class on his day.
First-time cheekpieces are equipped which could spark some further improvement, but he has already shown to possess a high level of ability on occasion with promising efforts at the top level, and this race appears as a feasible opportunity for him to return to winning ways.

Sugar Baby has to prove his worth in this company, but he may be able to put in a competitive effort for Peter Niven and improve on his return to action at Thirsk in familiar surroundings at Redcar.
The course-and-distance winner is only 1lb higher than his latest success at the track, on a workable mark if able to put his best foot forward. He's an experienced performer, making his 45th career appearance, and has course form in his favour under 5lb claiming Ethan Tindall.

Richard Hannon-trained First Legion was well-supported into 4/15.00 favouritism when finishing fifth to Startled at York when last seen. He was far from disgraced on that occasion but could fare better from a 1lb lower rating in this contest.
Previously, the son of Mehmas was beaten only a length-and-a-half by Ten Carat Harry when outrunning odds of 20/121.00 at Newmarket on Guineas weekend, improving for his opening effort of the season at the same venue. He had shown promise last term as a juvenile, placing at Listed level whilst emerging with credit in competitive races at Deauville and York, as well as landing a maiden success on debut.
There could be further improvement to come from First Legion and he may be worth keeping onside under Alec Voikhansky.

Veteran Dont Go Yet put in an excellent effort to finish third to stablemate Come Walk With Me at odds of 33/134.00 at the Punchestown Festival when last seen. He was able to place in a 20-runner race on that occasion, proving he still retains plenty of ability and, from an unchanged mark under 7lb claimer Sarah Kavanagh, could go a couple of places better now in veteran company.
From a workable mark, the 12-year-old warrants consideration as he seeks a fourth career victory. He's a likeable performer who has been running consistently well in recent months, and should give another good account of himself for owner-trainer Edward Cawley.
