"Ebendi was a bit disappointing on his first run for us at Killarney, but he has strong form in the book and we expect him to come on from that. He stays well and a much-improved effort wouldn’t surprise."
Joseph O'Brien saddles no less than six runners in Sunday's Irish Cesarewitch while also holding chances in some earlier races at the Curragh as well as Limerick...
Curragh
Promising filly can build on Galway win
13:20 - Tranquil Lady
Tranquil Lady made a lovely debut at Gowran Park and built on that when winning a maiden at Galway in great style. She has a big pedigree, being a half-sister to our own State Of Rest, so getting black type with her is the big goal. We feel she is a stakes filly, so hopefully she'll show that here.
Don't be surprised if she outruns her odds
13:55 - Dilawara
Dilawara has run a few good races for us over seven furlongs, but has been racing notably freely in doing so. We think trying her in a better race over six furlongs is worth a try and there is very little downside in doing so in a stakes race. If she was to hit the frame it would be a huge result for her and it wouldn't surprise if she outruns what is likely to be a big price.
Some decent chance in a wide open Irish Cesarewitch
15:05 - Ebendi, Shoshone Warrior, Benaud, Celestial Horizon, Powerful Kieran and Monty's Way
Ebendi was a bit disappointing on his first run for us at Killarney, but he has strong form in the book and we expect him to come on from that. He stays well and a much-improved effort wouldn't surprise.
Shoshone Warrior has been acquitting himself well in this type of race all season and the emphasis on stamina will certainly play to his strengths.
Benaud has been acquitting himself in weight-for-age races this season and a return to handicaps over this longer trip might well suit him. A big run from him wouldn't be a surprise.
Celestial Horizon has come alive in recent starts and while this a big step up in class, the strong test of stamina will suit him and he isn't one to rule out.
Powerful Kieran has sneaked in at the bottom of the weights and I don't think he is one to rule out. He is unexposed over staying trips and the first-time blinkers should help him. He is an interesting contender.
Monty's Way is the third reserve and seems unlikely to get a run. He disappointed on his handicap debut last time.
Limerick
Has a bit to find
14:10 - Lunar Display
Lunar Display has a bit to find with these, but can hopefully come away with prize money and potentially some black type.
Hopeful rather than confident about our pair
15:55 - Top Moon and A Wave Of The Sea
Top Moon and A Wave Of The Sea are both well used to races like this. They are both in the boat as in if the races falls right for them, they are capable of competing off their current marks. We'll be hopeful rather than confident.
